Ok, so I thought I would share my sons' kewl little monster toys they sketched & sculpted (I had to help them clean up their work and detail their lines). I molded the LGGs, but, I still need to mold the Classic Monsters and Gloops so I can cast them up. http://thegodbeasts.tripod.com/gb_boy_art.htm
Those are sweet! Your sons did a bang-up job! I like those Gloops alot! Man your work is nice. One of these days I'm going to have to get my Cthulhu MUSCLE done by you. Very Nice work! Phil
These are pretty cool. They have a bit of a Tiki look to them. I like the Franken looking guy in the middle best.
Hey Phil, So here is the first set of Gloops I cast/painted last night fresh out of the new molds!!! I can't wait to see my youngest son's face when he sees his sculpts in clear green plastic finally!!! http://thegodbeasts.tripod.com/gb_boy_art.htm
Cool. They look nice under the blacklight. I'm sure your boys will go wild for them. And as for the Monsters from the earlier post, I like the mummy the best I think.
Hey thanks bro! Ya, I have 50% of the mold done for that set of Classic Monsters my oldest sculpted...I have to pour the second half today and then I should have those figures cast by Sunday night. I can't wait to have those in their correct colors and painted up! They are both very excited/proud to have their sketches in actual toys. Them & I both had absolutely no idea my regular customers would start gobblin' these up. I think I am making/selling more of their work than mine right now. TGB
Ha! Cool stuff, dood. I bet the kids think you are SO cool. I laughed, cuz I don't think my "art" is all that special, and then my 9yo niece sees it and flips her lid! Next thing you know, she has a piece of paper out and is drawing too. Keep the inspiration alive, and never let the kids think this is not the coolest thing in the world. Hell, they are the next generation of SB'ers!!!!!
Hey TGB, remeber me? Those are really great looking. I also love your crytsal clear muscle customs. These especially: are any of these available? I would also love to to see the anouncer and lil peanut get a full size version some day. Can you do that? Still have any of the clear Freddy Funkos or Spastiks?
I do! How you been? Good I hope. Thanks for the compliments on my sons' sculpts! Mucho appreciated! Yup, I still have that mold w/ the announcer, puyo puyo, super meat and niku (basically all the mini G1s)... I could sculpt larger versions (not sure how cost effective that would be though, since most of the diehards are little rubber guy collectors)...have you seen the Romando's from Japan (which are HUGE)? I know they have a full sized announcer (at least I think they do, they have Meat)...no Puyo Puyo though (Peanut guy). Ya, I still have those molds, but, the Carlos mold was trashed early on and that one collector (can't remember his name now) got all 3 or 4 I made. Freddy I made only what Brian told me I could make and haven't made another since. I have had plenty of collectors ask/beg, but, I keep my word. I thought Brian made a series of clear colored Freddys after that? Take care, TGB
Thanks! I just wanted to post a link to my boys' page again because I finally cast a set of my oldest son's LGG Classic Monsters fully painted on my site. http://thegodbeasts.tripod.com/gb_boy_art.htm Thanks in advance for lookin' TGB
The red glow is SICK! I hope vinyls take that on, someday I dig the toxic spill for scenery, too. Reminds me of the slime that used to come with Ghostbusters, He-Man, and TMNT toys does it smell the same?
Just updated my Flickr w/ my sons' work. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tgbcustoms/sets/72157617786096308/show/ Also, Battle Grip's toy review of my son Kobe's work. http://www.battlegrip.com/?p=3102
