May I know how long it normally takes to get something from US to asia ? I got a tracking number and check at the USPS and found the message saying the following >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.. Label/Receipt Number: CP48 5569 ???U S Status: Acceptance Your item was accepted at 11:39 AM on March 29, 2008 in LAW?????????, GA ??????. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> changed the detail to ????? sender since it involve sender detail. Don't want to expose it here. Any idea ? Thanks for any advice
Garadama, I have found that lots of times when it says the package has been accepted it just means the sender has filled out the paperwork and submitted it ( the paperwork) to the Post Office- it doesn't necessarily mean that the package was mailed. Some Ebay sellers use shipping software from the USPS that tells them the shipping fee, print labels. etc. I have had packages take 2 weeks just being shipped within the US- it depends on when the sender physically mails the package.
Hey GD For sure it can take up to a month for international at times. Although its slightly not that common specially for Asia.(Australia is guaranteed month transit sometimes tho) We did recently have Tax-day...so I would imagine the last 2-3 weeks the usps have been swamped with tax mailings so... Also...that # is a delivery confirmation #...as opposed to a "tracking" #, It will sometimes list major hubs that it passes thru but other times only the delivery itself might show up. For insurance etc, the usps will make you wait 1 month anyway before they take any action so, give it a bit more time and cross your fingers.
Actually a CP... is a customs number and it should generate updates at least when it goes into and out of customs. However I have had foreign packages delivered, and weeks later there was still nothing but the initial "accepted" message.
thanks guys. My package finally arrived and I right away notified the seller in order not to make him worry and wasted time to help calling the usps for me.
