Actually, when I started my art/customs...I used most of what I made to trade for toys...I did spend some $$$ too, but, I did a TON of trading, hitting flea markets/garage sales/antique stores/swap meets etc...

I collected most of these toys from 1995-2006...but, I didn't even have my vintage Star Wars, new Star Wars, and several other minor collections in those photos (didn't have room to display so they were in storage tubs).

In 2006 I was blind sided w/ a divorce. I was a visual arts teacher for 7 years in Kansas City MO and became a stay at home father for 5 years. So when the divorce hit I had only been developing my art/customs for a few years and I had to sell off 90-95% of those toys to pay for my $28,000 in legal bills fighting for custody of my 2 sons.

As kewl as all those toys were, I had way too much and I as I felt sadness selling off important collections I had had since I was a child...I also felt a sort of relief.

Now I only have my Battle Beasts and Nightmare Before X-mas collections (along w/ a few other minor toy lines).

I did have and was starting to collect vinyls, but, they were way too $$$ for my blood and situation so I sold off what I had.

I loved collecting little toys loose mint complete because I could find them readily for a good price and I could pack my toy cases MAXED w/ them!!!

Ya, EVERYONE that ever came to my home would FREAK OUT when they saw the toys and would just stand there forever checking them out, reminiscing of their childhood and characters they knew. I loved that...also that retro room was my pride and joy! I still have the retro room set up and I still have 4 of the 5 Toys R Us display cases (2 of them w/ my son's LEGO collections in them), but, the ex got my retro lounger (that I recovered w/ the lavender fur) and the new contemporary couch. She couldn't get her hands on my toy collection and thank God they locked, otherwise during the divorce I would have lost TONS of my most valuable toys due to her snatching them!!! She was pure evil...during the height of the divorce when we were separated and both living in and out of the home she had some tool male friend of her's (he thought he was gonna be her boyfriend and she used him for $ and watching our sons when they were supposed to be w/ her spending time w/ her) drilled out BOTH my paint studio and molding/casting studio door locks w/ a drill and kicked in the doors.

Anyway, enough about all that...I just thought I would explain the situation of amassing such a huge vast toy collection and then having to loose it.

Thanks for the comments everyone and I hope I answered most of your questions/comments.

Here is a link to the toys I have left available...hope it is ok to link it in this thread...if not, I am sure a mod will move it.

I think you need to be a member of http://www.littlerubberguys.com to view it though.

Of course I did! I had Gargamel's Castle (blue w/ yellow straw roof in the bottom) and I think 5 or so Gargamels, 4 Azerals (his cat), and Scruple (his apprentice).

To the other member asking about the display cases they were TRU (Toys R Us) video game locked lit display cases. I had 5 and only have 4 now.
