My uncles Tin Tin, I've had him for the last 25 years and my uncle must have gotten him in the late 40's or early fifties. He's hollow vinyl (?) and has a squeak hole but the reed was broken when I filled it with toothpicks and red paint as a kid (Tin Tin stabbed in the ass !). Still one of my faves, anyone know anything about him ?
Wow, i wish i had a set of those Pouet Pouets !!! Theres even three colorways of TinTin. But the head on these sculpts is turned while mine looks straight ahead. 1960 also seems a little late.
A real classic, no ? I remember chewing on the houpette (cowslick in english ? How would you say in spanish ?) as a little kid. My uncle just passed away this fall. He was a highly educated man with very sophisticated tastes and an unpleasant disdain for almost all popular culture...except for european comics. He was completely mad for them and through these we shared a special connection. I spent my whole childhood receiving the overflow from his astounding collection room (my aunt only permitted a finite cubic space for comics stuff !!).
I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. Very interesting man, I'm sure. And... aagh!! Wives always limiting everything!! By houpette you mean the hair-do? Copete would be the word in spanish, probably with the same origin as the French word.
