i'm usually at the gym 4-5 days a week using the eliptical and alternating upper and lower body workouts on the machines. the days i don't go, i try and do yoga with my wife. been in this routine for about 3 years and feel less stressed and much better physically.

I HATE sports but work out a lot. My dad died of a heart attack a few years back and so I kinda got into it. Also my wife really got into weight lifting (she hates cardio, me too!) and so I got into it with her.

I run a mile and a half every morning at like 6am than every other day I do weights. Squats, military press, rows, bench press, curls, dips and pull ups are some of the more common exercises I do. I actually just started weights though.

I've been pre-occupied these last 2 weeks though so I've not gone, feel crappy about it, but time to get back in this week.

I used to be 300 lbs. in my senior year in high school, it took a lot for me to get where I am. The first weight loss motivation I had was poverty, I moved out of my moms and had no money and had to walk every where and ate way less. The second was revenge, this girl broke up with me so I wanted to lose a bunch of weight to show her off so I started jogging. The third was my dad passing, I didn't want to leave my wife at 59 years old and he was really un-healthy.

Sorry for the long post

I loathe gyms and won't enter one no matter what, but I do jog/speed walk every night for a few miles. Also not having a car, I ride my bike/walk everywhere so it tends to keep me sorta fit or at least maintain my weight. I like being active. I also (now more than ever) watch what I eat. Gone are the days of burgers/pizza all the time, Now it's rice, white meats (fish & chicken), lots of veggies and fruit. Occasionally I breakdown eat some chocolate or get a burger but not like I used to. Will never give up the java. Never had a problem with weight but I don't want to start either as I'll be 40 in October.

Definitely a Lex thing. Hell, when it's nice here it's hard as hell just to find a place to play.

My biggest problem with working out right now is lack of motivation. About a year and a half ago I broke my ankle and just havent had the necessary enthusiasm to start hitting the gym up again.

I also LOVE the gym, it's the best place ever to watch idiots. These guys that walk in there and only ever work out their chest and arms, makes me laugh every time.

Nothing is more irritating to me than to watch some douche use the power rack as a rest for their arm curls or some other machine inappropriate exercise. The worst offense is waiting for some weiner to get done with his dinky curls so I can use the power rack to do squats or DL's. One rack in a gym full of benches, and you got to do curls that you can do anywhere!

I dont have so much of a problem with that at my gym...most of them dont want to be caught dead near anything that works out your legs or back.

You have to blow the cobwebs off of the squat rack before you use it.

It's way too funny. We have 1 squat rack, and like 15 benches...and you have to wait in line just to do any sort of bench press.

Agreed! everyone is benching like crazy at the gym! I am sure that leg day for these folks consists of calf raise and then the bench press!

when my 4 yr old daughter sat on my lap and asked if i was pregnant, i figured that it was time for a lifestyle change. i've changed my eating habits starting just a week ago. eating fresh veggies and fruit, powerbars instead of the old regualr(hamburgers etc.),skinless chicken, etc. I've been walking the stairs at work. i work in a 26 story building. i'm able to get to the 24th flr and then back down, so far. i'm also into isometrics, crunches, situps, pushups. need to get the bicycle up and running soon and some new trucks and wheels to start skating again. in only 1 week i've lost nearly 6 pounds. it's a start. but i plan on keeping with it.

Last summer I was lifting and running 10 miles 3-4 times a week out of hope of doing a marathon. After SDCC my job sorta took over then got a transfer and promoton in OCT. Im just getting started running again... I'd really like to do a marathon in the fall.
