I don't think anyone's posted about this blog, but it's amazing, great monster art work collected and I love it and want to share. If it is up on the board already or something then scold me proper and I'll return after an hour in the corner.

My girlfriend showed me Monster Brains a few years ago and I've been following it on and off ever since. The guy's name is Aeron Alfrey and he's an artist, too. If any of you have the book Beasts Volume 2, he did the 1000 or so drawings for the end papers.

The pictures in his blog show up in a managable size when just viewing the initial listing, but when you click on the image, it gets HUGE. I, for one, like this because I think larger files are better when viewing stuff like this.

@BloodDrinker: It does seem strange that this hasn't been posted before. I mean, why the hell didn't I post about this years ago? D'oh!

Seems like a lot of us have been following this site on the side and never thought mentioning it. I specifically recall a post a few years ago about German pulp fiction covers (a fetish of mine that isn't kaiju), that immediately got me hooked. Check it out if you haven't yet.

Should I also be mentioning Pink Tentacle here, in case it's been overlooked? For Japanese culture and [non-toy] kaiju items, there isn't a better blog.

Yeah I found him via Flickr. I think he found ME actually due to some Anraku posters/art I loaded up then I saw his uploads, loved them, and have been following for a year or so.

Pics are pretty huge, I have a big screen though so it works but threw me off the first time. I was like "did I hit Ctrl while scrolling again?"

Monster Brains and Pink Tentacle...two of the best. Great source of inspiration. I've been trying to teach myself to paint in a header card/box art style..not exactly easy but lots of great reference on those sites.
