For what my two cents are worth, I think we should just stick to the rule that we shouldn't post about auctions on the board, period.
For various reasons, the first I can think of to focus on the qualities of a specific toy, not what it's going for on the bay or elsewhere.
I'll add that the more time I spend on SB the more I think it should be entirely and exclusively open only to members, no lurkers should be able to access any section of the board. This certainly wouldn't eliminate all flippers but it would be a first step in reducing the quantity of information exchanged here that leaks out to those that lurk only to get a grasp of the commercial potential of a toy.
Now back to Mishka, camo executions and all the rest

 

Personally I think of Kiyoka's camo as just a nice pattern. Far to structured to be actual camouflage. It draws the eye rather than breaks up an outline. Of course this is fine since we aren't trying to hide our toys in the jungle but I do find Shig's camo more appealing on this release and the Nam BG's. They feel more like camo to me. I do like Kiyoka's camo but I doubt it would even be call it that had it not been for the standard camo colors. When I see brighter versions of it, the last thing I think is camo.

This is one of every "official" release we have done. Even though I dont think we ever did a release of the unpainted GID.

Personally my favorite, (if I could choose 1) would be the V colorway, it just looks like a red lite is shining on half of his face. I should have snagged it from E B111 when he had his moment of weakness.

A NAGX3 fanboy's boner is much harder than those who just simply get turned on over camo. I love camo too and this is one of my favorite Bootlegs because of it, but I think the fact that it was painted by Shigeru has much more to do with the insane price than anything else.

 

you're right. i realized that after the fact. makes a lot more sense. everyone with a camo bootleg now knows what it's worth on the secondary market. get at it guys!

 

come on, you know what i meant. it's not a paint job worth 2 grand to me, that's all. not talking about the sculpt.

 

this flipping shit is getting ridiculous, all these toys that are jumping far past there actual worth. It just screws up the whole market and makes collecting something that should be obtainable impossible... alienating the audience.

 

Absolutely, it's a great toy regardless of the paint application. I'm just saying, the name attached to this version is what's pushing the aftermarket price into ridiculousness. I mean I've seen a few Bootlegs flipped, but not like that! This is just crazy

 

The BeetleJuice on eBay went pretty damn high as well. While I am not whining, since clearly I should have some money aside for one. I always miss these guys when they go up for sale here in the bst. One day I will have a bootleg, one day.
