OH, yeah! Made an unplanned trip down to SF yesterday, and managed a (cruelly brief) visit to the store. My 'hold bag' had morphed into a 'ship box,' but it had not quite yet become a 'shipped' box. This left me with a shipping credit, but since that money had already made the one-way trip into Brian's pocket, it's not like I was ever actually gonna be allowed to leave S7 with it in mine ... And, apparently two of the ten folks who'd been offered the right to buy the mini-purple Chaosman as their consolation prize (after the recent ooops-oversale of another mini [GID Head?]) had inexplicably declined it, so there was one mini purple still languishing, friendless and unloved, right there in the store! I so rarely get the chance to go to S7 (two or three x a year max) that it was great to both see everybody and to actually score my first 'store-sale-only' item. Plus I finally got to meet Glenn in person (the 'stache has apparently been exiled to Gitmo), and catch up with Josh and Joe and Karen a little bit. All in all, a highly successful visit -- 1 - Got my now-ancient hold bag (a dozen minis and five full-size RxH, plus the Midori Dokugan); 2 - Scored this mini-purple Chaosman; 3 - Had to leave so soon I was not unduly tempted by some great 'new old stuff' in the locked cases; and 4 - The lovely Karen-of-Kendall even asked me if I was single. (Which would've been so much more flattering, but for the virtual certainty that she only asked in case she could fix me up with her mother.) Seeing these now in the flesh for the first time, The GID Head mini is exceptional, it reminds me why some of the older paints are so strong. The Kamen and new black full-size Heads are both also winners - The gold shorts on the black Head look OK in hand after all. After the GID Head, this purple Chaosman may be the best among the last dozen minis, it's a real drag there weren't more of them available through S7. This GID/rainbow Chaos is instantly one of my top five favorite Chaos paints - I'm not ordinarily a big GID fan, but the combination of the wild paint job and the 'GID edge' effect is a knockout. Now I'm all freshly fired up - It's time for that teaser full-size Gold Chaos to drop, and for a big ol' crate of the pink-bubble Chaos to arrive at S7 ...
It was nice to meet you Clay. I was kinda amazed the purple chaos was still sitting upfront and just for the record both purple chaos are now sold.
I was one of the guys that passed on the purple chaosman... picked up a us toys goro instead The colors didn't do it for me that much but I'm glad it went to someone who really wanted it. Hopefully one day I can drop by the store
