There was a comedian who said this recently, I forget exactly who it was, it might have been Carlos Mencia. "What America should do is this: First, draft illegal Mexican immigrants into the army. Second, invade Mexico without an exit strategy. Problem solved."
I'm pretty sure you know what the word "whatever" means, so given that this is the Whatever Forum, a better question would be, "Why are you asking why this was posted?"
I'm pretty sure that other people have made threads that do not relate to one of those subjects. Why don't you go bother all of them while you're at it?
I don't see why there are comments about why this is posted... Guess bashing doesn't have limits In comment, I don't see why the U.S. is responsible for people dieing doing something stupid and illegal, and do people realize that non-citizens have alot less rights in the U.S.? It always puzzles me that people assume aliens have the same rights as a citizen.
If people are going to react to human rights abuses by national guard in Iraq, then the same rules should apply here. Prisoners should have basic human rights and if these are compromised, then there is the grounds for a lawsuit. I'm only saying this because if i try to sneak in, i wanna at least have precident to sue when they beat me up and send me back to canada.
I only skimmed the article.. but my understanding wasn't that suits would follow for being beat up. Stay in canada you hoser lol
Look, I've seen GB try to post stuff on the other message board that was pretty much geared to just promote polorized arguments. Politics, abortion, etc... I just don't think these are subjects that are appropriate for a toy forum. If that's bashing, then I guess I'll just continue to bash away.
*incorrect statement deleted* I think it's a shame that some people suffer injury or death while attempting to enter the U.S., but there are higher stakes involved here. Open borders threaten our national security. Some people may have forgotten, but the U.S. is a terrorist target. Our borders are a huge liability at this point.
Bah the whole topic stinks. The US annexed the western portion of the continent after invading Mexico. The US was one of the most bloodthirsty imperialist powers of the 19th century. Of course, once the "sea to shining sea" was completed, then it was time to whip out the Monroe Doctrine and tell the rest of the world to play nicey nicey (as long as it could keep the Philippines, of course!) Then of course the US turns a blind eye to illegal immigrants in the mid-late 20th century so they can do the dirty jobs nobody else wants to do. And now, in order to detract attention from an extremely unpopular administration, the government does what all good governments do - it points its grubby fingers at the immigrants (always a popular target). The electorate is as short-sighted as it is short-term in its memory if it buys the malarkey the administration is selling you. Rather than worry about the poor trying to make it into the steel fortress, why not give a thought or two about how the telephone call you just made was recorded and sent to the NSA. I repeat: Bah.
