Has anyone got past the paypal sign in on that site? What the hell is this paypal verification sign in? Seems like info they don't really need. My account is verified by Mandarake but I just get the endless circle of death and it never signs in but says my account has been verified. I read the fine print and was thinking maybe it has something to do with the 1 byte half width characters it says to use. I know nothing about what the hell those are or if the english language is 1 byte half width.
They seem to change-it up periodically . . . maybe for security, i dunno. They did mention a while ago they will only send to the address on your paypal account. I've been signing-in no problem.
My Paypal account has been verified for well over a decade, and when asking to share info on Mandarake it appears to have been verified there as well. What's happening is when I sign in it asks me if I want to use the verified account. I click "continue" and then it starts, goes nowhere and I guess times out. What I'm asking for I guess, is the English language in 1 byte half width? Because it states 2 byte full width won't work. I emailed them but if they respond saying change my Paypal info to half width I still won't know how to do that.
Just a hunch, but have you tried using a different web browser or setting your display font to a monospace font? This seems like something that Tired Children would be able to help with. James!
From what I understand the standard for Latin characters is halfwidth, so that shouldn't be the problem? Can't get it to work, either - I don't even have an account, when I try to confirm the order Mandarake keeps insisting that I sign in with PP via pop-up window, I do, pop-up window closes, that's it. When I try to confirm again, it asks me to sign in with PP. *Sigh*...
Yeah I just did some research also. Seems that english words are in half width so that clearly isn't the problem. I also removed block pop up and unchecked block cookies from third parties, neither of those worked. Going over to my windows laptop now to see if it's Mac Safari browser issue. EDIT: Nope that's not it either.
I haven't had any problems, but I have my Mandarake log in linked to my PP log in, and it seems to recognise me from the start. I am not sure why they have been tinkering with the site over the past few months, as it seemed to work just fine to everyone's satisfaction, and if anything, now that they are shipping to any address, not just the PP verified ones, it is more open to 'fraud.'
I haven't ordered anything from them in a long time (since last spring) so I was unaware they made you log in via paypal on the order confirmation screen till today. This is going to sound like a dumb question, but is there a way to actually see your profile and update your information? For the life of me I've never been able to visit an actual page and change info. Suppose I move? Perhaps that is the issue? I also constantly have to replace an old yahoo email address I no longer use on the order screen and now it won't even take my paypal hotmail email address.
Okay, here is the extent of what I know. You have to enter your usual information in the Mandarake fill boxes, as normal. Now, you also have to log in to Paypal at some point, at least for doing Paypal payment. You can just do this right at the start, though I don't think it autocompletes anything for you, since now you have the option to use a different shipping address (though Paypal). It will not let you move ahead to the checkout until you log in. Once you do, a new window will pop open for redirecting you to a special PP login, but note, this does not give you any Paypal info, it is just an extra security measure to use the website. After you log in, you will be redirected back to the Mandarake "cart" site, where you can now click confirm order. As Lixx noted, the Paypal login screen is essentially only an extra log in, and does not provide the shipping information, name, etc. You will have the chance to change all that when you go to complete the payment for the order after Mandarake verifies it and issues you the invoice. As for the other issues you mentioned, I am not sure. I have changed my address several times for both Mandarake and Paypal, as well as I am also still using my hotmail address - but this is probably because I have been doing from them for years, before they made the change against the so-called anonymous mail servers.
In furtherance to my last post, I tried a sample order just now to test out the system and there definitely does seem to be some added issue causing a problem today (and yesterday from my understanding). I am able to get through the PP window, though it does hang for a bit, but it keep asking me to log in again during checkout. When I do try, the Paypal window opens with me already being logged in, so there is some technical glitch where it is not being recognised then. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much we can do until they work this out. Hopefully they sort out the problem soon, because I am sure they get a lot of international orders online every day.
I had the same pb today as you did Lixx. I had this crazy endless loop trying to login with Paypal. The window closing with anything happening and being impossible to go to the next step. I had difficulties understanding the half-width nonsense and finally decided to pay with my credit card, which I managed to do. I'll e-mail Mandarake to tell them about the pb. It changed very recently and it is just a useless protocol to me... I have no idea why they decided to change their order form to be more complicated than before.
Cool, thanks for the added information. The toy I wanted is now out of stock of course, so I guess someone was able to get through with their orders. Could not catch a break if I needed to. Dangnabbit Mandarake, just take my money already!!
EDIT: Dropped them a mail with the item numbers etc. yesterday, received order confirmation about an hour ago.
If buyer wish to pay with PayPal, please make a note in the "note section". This^^^^ makes no sense at all?! How am I suppose to submit the order with the NOTE when I can't get past the paypal sign in screen?! Be nice if they would respond to my email like they did yours bunny. Not directed at you bunny just Mandarake
I suppose what they mean by that is you're supposed to go through the process of paying by cc, but let them know in the notes that you want to use PP; since I don't own a cc myself, I agree that's not very helpful, though. Btw, I just copied & pasted the entire order from the confirmation page minus the pictures into my mail, maybe that helped with receiving an order confirmation already (well, that and the fact that they seem to have figured out by now that the problem has nothing to do with that half-/fullwidth thingy)..?
Did you use the contact email link on the site or did you just email mandarake international? I used the site email.
Has anyone waited longer than a week for an invoice from M? I ordered items over a week ago from nakano store and STILL have not gotten the invoice, nor have i gotten a response back to any of my emails...
I think that's one of the stores that doesn't have english speaking staff, so that might delay it. Also the holidays delays everything world over. I'd try emailing them because it should not take more than 3 days.
Ok so im not the only one here. Yea holidays are probably slowing things down. Thanks for the response I emailed the international email direct a few times plus replied to the order email as well. Usually they send a written reply in a few hours or they just send the invoice. Hopefully the holidays are whats causing this. You're right though it usually takes no more than 3 days its been almost 9 days now. Thanks man
Depends on the store. I ordered two things from two different stores on the same day. One of them was super quick and has already landed the other? I haven't even been invoiced. I did have to use a charge card. Had the same cyclical problem with paypal login.
Nakano store seems to be the store most affected by the delays. I placed an order around the 25th and still have not heard back.
