Does anyone here remember the Legion of Superheroes from DC Comics? The original 60's incarnation, where any adjective was suffixed with boy, girl, lad or lass to create a teenage superhero? Such classics as Light Lass, Bouncing Boy, and personal favorite Matter-Eater Lad who came from the planet (snigger) Bismoll.

Anyway, our halloween theme at work is SuperHeroes (yep, pray for me), and in looking around for themes I came across this great fan site dedicated to the original LSH:

Check it out, especially Roll Call where u can check out Active Members, reserve mebers, future members, Expelled members and temporary members. Here u can read all about second string heroes like CHLOROPHYLL KID http://members.shaw.ca/legion_roll_call ... phyll_kid/ , whose powers are Growing plants super-big & fast. All so funny and campy, but kind of seriously aimed at the time.

I have always loved LSH... the latest comic iteration sucks, but there's a saturday morning cartoon now that's kind of a mix of the old glory days. I've followed it through the Dave Cockrum era, the Mike Grell days, and I absolutely loved what Keith Giffen did with the characters.

Thats so cool Loco - me too, first got into the Grell era when I was buying em in the 70's as a kid, then Cockrum, and the Giffen stuff (with Darkseid) was awesome. I have a few Giffen originals stuffed in an attic or closet. I had no idea there was a cartoon show tho, and I haven't seen the current stuff at all.

I have afew of the DC Direct figures - they are very faithful representations of the original characters.

Once they introduced Wildfire, I was hooked... he's probably one of my top 5 favorite comicbook characters. :D
