hate to say it but the ones you see that you havent seen before were not available publicly. So dont let it bother you. Putting them on a want list is like addressing it to 3 people.
I got diagnosed with a chronic illness 5 years ago.I ended up in a wheelchair for a period.Gradually I made it back to work part time.I had to give up alot of things I loved like skateboarding, running, full time work etc.You adapt and learn to live without these things. You learn to live with being ill.You develope new hobbies like collecting toys. This year has been particularly hard with lots of illness again.Understanding employers become not so understanding.Ive had the union representing me this week and with being ill its stress I could do without. So it was a real boost to my mood to get this custom in the mail from Mike.He wrote asking if he could trade with me.I really felt honoured that a hero of mine would get in touch and want to trade with me.He even threw in 2 free t-shirts and 3 free badges. Thank you Mike. You really made my day and lifted my spirits.
OA, Thanks for sharing your story. I hope you make it through these tough times and hope that the toys continue to offer you some level of satisfaction and happiness. The Le Turd custom is Dynamite and Mike never disappoints with the extras. Keep those spirits up, SB Community Camaraderie!
Organic Addict, I had no idea you were ill. Long term illness can be really brutal. I got into toys and joined Skullbrain directly as the result of my wife getting cancer. She went through a year and a half of really aggressive treatment, and it took it's toll on our family. Collecting toys proved to be an excellent way for me to clear my head of the serious stuff and just relax, and my wife has been really supportive. I too hope that these little fun guys help keep you strong through the tough times. It can be like you have your own cheering section on the shelf! Yes and Mike rocks hard and that custom is one to treasure! A really fine example of his style.
Thanks guys I appreciate the support. The Le Turd is amazing. Will post better pics when I feel better. He also sent a neon pink Hollis shirt.I went all lady gaga and did a little dance when I saw that.
Organic Addict, that's a great Le Turd, total classic - love the way Mike is painting the boards now. And so cool that art + toys can help lift and take us away - and that there's a community that gets it. Best to you...
