Please note that I did my best to remove any egregious Western/platform vinyl. However that said there are some odds and ends mashed together w/ S7 toys and a variety of resin & wood collabs w/ various artists that are obviously of Western influence. Oh an one of my favorite commissions of all time is missing because I painted a giant penis on it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/leecifer1/5236845168/ VIEW AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!!!! A bunch of stuff missing, but this should be the bulk of it. Another good yr despite the sh!tty economy. Thanks all for the commissions and support SB peoples!!! Bunch of stuff coming up quick - Jan 29th One-Off's @ Super7, Feb 26th 2-man show w/ Paul Kaiju again @ Super7 (Monster Family "Hi No Seirei" release rumor!) also the 26th is Mark Nagata's Alien Argus group show @ TAG in LA, March 26th is 5-man (Bob Conge, Jim Koch, Nolasco, TASK, & myself) show "Contemporary Figurative Modifications" @ TAG in LA, and April 9th Group Show at Dragatomi, June 11th Solo @ Dragatomi Then SDCC surprises!! Finally the "White Goga Dream" Bemon
Looks like another stellar year Lee! That Moon Knight Mummy Boy kills! I can't believe I've never seen that one before. Is it new???
These two are my favorites. I think they are both hilarious in a good way. Batman's cape is just so pathetic. The vertical stripes on the Bemon just should not be there which, for me, makes it much more interesting. Looks like your off to a busy year in 2011.
Man, I've said it before but I'll say it again...you're painted toys end up look like paintings of toys. That brain is one of the best I've seen. It's nice to see a group of toys painted so coherently...obviously painted by the same guy. Good work in 2010 and I look forward to more in 2011. Thanks for being an awesome dude and for working so hard to put together great shows for the rest of us weirdos.
This was sold at the Florida store from the show w/ Josh. That's the extent of my knowledge. Dustin - my pleasure. Love our local scene!!! Can't wait for the "One-Off's" show at Super7 Jan 29th (show plug) so I can get a better look at your work. That Bemon is serious artistic license. The lines follow some of the contours/ridges, but no they wouldn't be straight. It's based on that killer Goga (not my photo) Thanks all!!!!
Wow Lee! Another amazing year. You have a very distinct style that just screams awesomeness. I love your work and can't wait to see more in 2011. BTW, that Bemon is outrageous. I have always wondered what one would look like after it had been in your hands.
What a fantastic lineup! You pics are always a fav of mine when the roll into the recently added flickr stream. Can't wait to see what 2011 holds for you! Here's to your continued success. Like everyone else has chimed in on, that Bemon is great for so many reason.
Thanks TS! This may be a little less than half of what I did last yr? Stuff that just won't fly here is flickr'd away if anyone wants to see it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/leecifer1/
Moon Knight! Thanks for the retrospective, helps me get caught up. I like the "paintings of toys" bit. It's appropriate. Looking forward to the show at the end of the month!
