Re: Larry This looks like such a fun character!! I especially like his little interchangeable weapon.
Re: Larry INSANE!!!!! Dude you got some skills!!!!!! I checked your web store and everything is amazing! Great job
Re: Larry Arse! . . . a resin piece I kinda like the look of . . . I'm off to poke my eyes out right now! It'd still look better as a vinyl production piece though!
Re: Larry Holy smokes!!! I didn't think he could say anything nice ever!!! It must be after the end of the world now.....
Re: Larry Thank you everyone, I appreciate all the comments. Took some pics the other night while making more Larry's in the garage. He is a combination of solid and hollow parts. The hollow parts ( head and body ) are made by putting the molds in my homemade rotocast machine. I found the plans on the internet by Googling rotocasting or rotocast machine, sorry but I don't have the link anymore. I like to use a resin made by Smooth On that is made for rotocasting. For the glow and translucent parts I use a resin made by Silcast called Sil-tech. The tints I use are also a product from Smooth On. Some of Larry's parts are solid and put in a pressure pot to force air bubbles out of the resin. This is a good idea for translucent and clear parts. Here are the parts out of the molds, ready to be cleaned up. They need to have the flash ( excess resin ) removed and any air bubbles filled with putty. What you see on the bench is about 4 1/2 hours of work, and they still ain't done! Welllllllllll, Hope you all enjoyed a small look into the process of making our garage toys. And thank you to everyone that has purchased one! So stoked to see Larry go international!
Re: Larry Buttered Up Larry, and yeah PK knows I ripped him. my 1st time with an airbrush, pretty fun!!!
Re: Larry Awesome job Milton! Larry looks great! And Guf, judging from those casting photos... I hope I never decide to cast resin. It looks like a pain in the ass!
Re: Larry Buttered up Larry is pretty freakin cool, pics do not do it justice. Excellent first job with the airbrush, although you did have coach of the year to guide you! Hey Lawrence, Casting resin is tons o fun, more fun than white washing a picket fence. Any time you want to help let me know.
Re: Larry Thanks Lawrence!!!! Glad you like 'em...And yeah, totally fun, so just let us know when you want to help cast and you'll discover the joy of life!!
Re: Larry Larrys got the Nags!!! Custom one off I did for my Nag Ball. Inspired by Shig who was so cool to meet. I used Aves epoxy to sculpt the details. I also cut off the finger and created a diddle finger action. Paint is House of Kolor with Virus clear coat.
Re: Larry Amazing work. I am really lovin those nagging additions to you sculpt. Your choice of color is cool! The diddle finger action is a winner. I would love to have one
Re: Larry Just looking at all of this and the process that goes into it gives me a much deeper appreciation for the art of resin. Well done man
Re: Larry Impressive i need to start rotocasting, that machine you made is sweet. Great work! The detail shot of the face is awesome the teeth and the eye high lights are great.
Re: Larry I thought I read somewhere, that resin toys suck? There is not anything about this toy that suck. It's wierd in a "Childs play/Evil Dead" kind of way. Knifes are scary. Is that sculpy, you use for the moddeling? Peace out
Re: Larry Thank you again everyone for the comments! Larry is going to Designer Con. Look for him at the Lulubell booth #234
Re: Larry Here are pics of some custom Larry's I did . Got hit up for a couple of customs after I posted pics of the one I did for me. Going to re-sculpt and mold a new version similar to these for early 2012.
