hey roger , you wanted to know what maker that symbol was that you sent me . from what i was told the manufacturer is takoda and the print on the foot is called peach .these are 5 takoda ( peach ) vinyls
Wow, Peach? I wonder if there's any connection to Orange. (This question is not being asked sarcastically.)
That backer art for Tiger 7 is incredible!!!!!!!!!! Another fine possible article for the pages of S7MOOK Backers
Jim's collection smells the best as far as I'm concerned. Hey Jim, what's your opinion on all this new stuff like Blobpus, bemon, and all this patch kaiju? Inquiring minds want to know!
funny you should ask paul . i was just at my friend keiths last night checking out all the new stuff he got in . when i was noticing some of the mini kaiju he had were actually "pirate " kaiju that i have seen the originals from ! keith has a really wide variety so i can sample a lot of the new vinyls in person . he showed me a " thunder scorpion " and a mini silver kamen kaiju which looked amazing . probably still lean toward the japanese vinyls ( gargamel ect..) but i was very surprised at how ugly doll transferred into 3d vinyl and please, that is not a back handed compliment . we both agreed that bwaana spoons up and comming clear whale should be inrcedable . if i was a millionare rock star i would have it all but on my limmited budget i have to chose what speaks to me the loudest . one last thing is the sheer amount of imagination that some of these new vinyls have just blow me away .
I think that's why I like Gargamel over some of the other companies. You can see the "blatant" (I use that in a good way) influence of the vintage stuff.
I so enjoy looking through Jim's collection and I'm glad to hear he enjoys looking through mine. We both have an overwhelming passion for collecting toys we love and that's about as good as it gets. It still trips me out that we're a few blocks from each other, talk about small world. I have to say the vintage toys are very inspiring and harken me back to feelings from my youth. The newer stuff I just have an aesthetic for that I enjoy, but seeing Jim's toys has opened my eyes up to a whole new world. Just some of the sculpts and the paint jobs blow your mind.
im curious if anyone has seen the head of this kaiju put on a smaller standing body . saw one on yahoo awhile back and the vinyl looked new . wondering if some new company was doing its take on this guy .
dont know when this was made but it uses most of the giant marusan king godzilla mold ( except arms ) minus the horn . it was made into a giant night lite and whoever made it put as the maker stamp " banana " on its foot . took this shot in a totally black room .
should be getting in a couple of more display cabnets in soon so i started unpacking the rest of my stuff . i had seen that someone posted one of these guys a while back . still missing one villian . these vinyls are from gekko kamen or moon mask and are the standard size .
thanks for the kind words . finished hauling out my stuff and aranging the 2 new cabnets and re aranging everything . pissed me off that the plexi glass shelving is bending but i will fix that later .
Wow !!! That is really impressive. How many years have you been collecting vintage and what has been your main source? (Or were you just a very compulsive child that grew up in Japan or Hawaii ?)
+1???? you also must not have kids or cats...that stuff would be all over the place if you did...BOOM!
Oooo oooo oooo Kagestar Henshin Belt !!!!!!!!!!!!! I think he's got a big doggie.... Cant figure out how those vinyls dont end up chew toys.
here are a couple of rare pogo figures . these are a lot harder to find than the smaller ones . yes akumizer , big doggie . akumizer can tell you that cats and vinyls can get along . think i started collecting back in 89 but i probably have very few from my first years of collecting .
