I normally stay away from politics on the board but had to put this out there,I was biking home and saw a flag on someones porch, I rode by about a half block before doing a double take and going back to look at it, from its looks it was a mass produced flag with a green background with a bathroom signesque man and woman holding hands with a child on each side, in the background were 2 rings crossed over in an infinity sign style, subtle or not I know what the fuck you people mean, I would love to hear if these start popping up elsewhere and where they come from (did a fairely thorough google sweep to no avail) just figured I would put this out there so you can know who your neigbors truelly are, if I am wrong on this please correct me as I could find no further info but I have a feeling I have interpreted things pretty clearly
Holy fuck, I hate bigots. This issue has let them feel okay with their intolerance so now they wear it like a badge of honor. People wonder how so many could stand against the abolition of slavery. Well this is how, by having other intolerant people stand by your side and tell you that you're right to feel that way.
It's bizarre that some people feel so threatened by the prospect of other people having equal rights under law.
Not to stir the pot further, but I have always wondered how it is 'cool' in many parts of the US to fly the confederate flag. Especially since those are often too the sworn god and country patriots. I don't know, I am an outsider, but if I see that anywhere I am going to make assumptions on the people bolding displaying it.
yeah gotta watch out for the monotheist terrorist cells of Gemmanon. Theyre trying to liberate the Cylons. It's all bad.
You're not alone here. I moved from Akron/Cleveland area of Ohio to Tennessee, and you see it here from time to time, especially more near the mountains. Not to say you don't see it everywhere though. I'd love to believe that people are ignorant to what it stands for, but that'd be wishful thinking on my part. People, as a whole, refuse to accept people as they are. In Tennessee, it was put into law that evolution could not be taught in any schools here, but Creationism can be. That green flag meant exactly what you thought it did, waiting. It's sad that somehow who someone loves is everyone else's business and that we are able to tell those people they're going to Hell because of it. Plus, women obviously don't deserve equal pay either, right? Ughhhh. No good answers though, I enjoy my right to freedom of speech just as they do - it still sucks though.
Stuff like this is why the republican right scares me. Two attendees were ejected from Republican National Convention on Tuesday for throwing nuts at a black CNN camerawoman. And I quote, "this is how we feed animals." Hey racists/bigots/homophobes/etc., get your head out of your arse! [or at least stop procreating]
have you seen the movie Idiocracy ? unfortunately the worst examples of our species breed in exponential numbers, while the best and brightest are often too busy to start families.
