Amy was kind enough to post on facebook that lulu has the jade versions. Check 'em out if you can. "According to ancient Japanese legend, children who die prematurely are sent to the underworld as punishment for causing great sorrow to their parents. They are sent to Sai no Kawara, the river of souls in purgatory, where they pray for Buddha's compassion by building small stone towers, piling stone upon stone. ...But underworld demons, answering to the command of the old hag Shozuka no Baba, soon arrive and scatter their stones and beat them with iron clubs mercelessly. Bodhisattva Jizo-Anarcho comes to the rescue by hiding the children in the sleeves of his robe thus defeating the evil attacks of Shozuka no Baba and her malicious demons. The message of Jizo-Anarcho to her as she is forced to flee in frustrated defeat is immortalized in this statue..."
These look awesome and great color choices thus far. Is that a middle finger? I'm not usually a fan but it's not blatant like most figures do, so I don't mind it.
Is it pronounced Jee-zoh or Jizz-OH! JK. It's an awesome sculpt. I like that first one where it kinda looks like wood.
cool Toby. was hoping for his tongue to be hanging way out and then when you push the top, a recorded BOOM..!!! is heard.
they look pretty sweet. i'm pretty anti random mohawks on toys, but the symmetry and thickness of this one is really sculptural and adds to the piece nicely. i dig this toy. do you plan to do more figures in this shrine-statue style?
just got the lulubell exclusive jade, and it is my first resin piece. very nice indeed! love the back story to this guy. nice job db. were the 5 available individually, or only as a set?
