The other night a few mates were discussing Science Fiction Sports films as a genre (yes, it was pointed out at the time that we are a bit special) other than Rollerball. We came up with a few. Mad Max 3, Deathrace, Arena, Running Man, TRON and several others.
Anyway, it reminded me of this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_8iztLC_Vw
Which is obviously ripe for being turned into the centre piece of some sort of crazy dystopian film.
That video reminded another friend of this:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416611/
    Pole Toppling aka Bo Taoshi
Which he has on DVD and says is fucking great!! but he doesn't have the subs.
So the question is - does anyone know where we might be able to find some subs? Fan or otherwise?

edit: Also the sequel to this:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1139645/
The Virgin Wildsides 2, no imdb page for it, but he reckons there's a double bill dvd of both Virgin Wildsides out in Japan, presumably without subs though.
He'll pay cash money (or paypal money I guess ;) )

Subtitles for dvd rips are usually '.srt' files and there's a pretty active community of fan subtitle transcriptors. You might have to import the dvd or get a digital copy that's compatible... or start learning Japanese. Those should give you some starting points for search terms. I'd do it myself if I was at a keyboard instead of a touch screen.

I have looked in "the usual places" with no luck.
And though I didn't personally consider doing a .srt search, just have an there's nothing :( but thank you for the suggestion, sometimes it's easy to over look the most obvious.
