One started as a mixed Sludge Demon, the other a Mixed Boss Carrion. Two of my all-time favorites that I have wanted to put my own spin on for a long time. phil
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud OHMYGOSHPHIL!!! Since that Sludge Demon head was previously mine, GIVE ME THAT SLUDGE DEMON!!!!
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud Does this Boss match that mini Boss you did a while back?
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud Im diggin' the tongue on that boss!! Those are great colors, albeit a bit too neon for my eyes, hahaha. Wish I had the paint control you got, man. Keep 'em coming!
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud Thanks guys, I'm really proud of these two. I might take a few more of the Boss, because he's a little hard to photograph, there's actually a lot of color in there, not just black. And TiredChildren- While I can't give you this one, you (Or anyone else) is certainly able to contact me if you have something you'd like me to paint. I still do that. Russblue- Its kinda similar, but not quite. I gave that mini to Paul, but if I remember right it had a yellow snout and some differences... but close!
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud Terrific as ever, Phil! I always get excited when I see you've posted new work!
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud That sludge demon is incredible! I wish that was a standard production run. Amazing colors.
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud I said it a while back on flickr, love that boss. The DX however blows me away. I love the subtle fades from green to orange/red. Your skill is crazy.
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud Phil man this stuff is awesome the paint ups are just mind blowingly good!
Re: It's been a while since I posted anything... Boss & Slud Thanks again everyone, especially Rich- I had a blast painting both, and now having painted a few sludge demons I'm really finding my feel for it. And To be honest, when I started, I liked the Death sludge best... but after this one I'm really coming around to the Dokuros head. And I'm glad everyone enjoyed the colors, I feel like I was in a phase dominated with black blues and purples. (As you can see with the boss) so it was fun to go extra Vibrant with the Sludge Demon. The Boss, was painted much earlier, and I showed a few people. I wanted to do a job respectful to the Boss- because you don't just strip and paint over Paul's work, and blanks are truly gifts. You better bring the heat if you are going to spray one. Being much darker it doesn't show the depth of color as well as real life unfortunately. I tried to make the transitions of purples and blues to black as subtle as possible, and I wanted to it to be colorful without being busy. Sometimes less is more, right? It was nearly done and sat untouched for months until I added the slits on Boss's eyes. Now hes done. My favorite parts are the eyes on Boss and the fish, and the tongues on Mockbat and Boss. I hope at some point down the line I get to paint Boss again, and maybe the other characters in Paul's menagerie. But for right now I'm super happy I did this and the results. He looks bad ass with my PK Bosses!
