Ilanena's next SuperFestival exclusives are up: http://www.artstorm.co.jp/gentei.html I don't collect these guys (and with the rate they are releasing them at, I don't think I want to start, either...) but the color scheme on these ones are very nice, particularly on the Meetaras and Metrokabayan
New set up on Ilanena's flickr... to be sold at Omocha SPIRAL in Harajuku. I think they're all nods to 80s/90s toys... the eye on the Metrokabayan is from My Little Pony, but I can't figure out the other two.
K.I.L.L.E.R. These rule. I think I might have to make these my first Ilanena's. Also, I think the H is based off this weird Japanese witch doll from the 70's/80's that I see around sometimes, the color of the vinyl and the eye are dead ringers... Do you think the other one could be a Carebears theme? Like the different colors of the bears on his pseudopods and his body is the sky/clouds? I only say this because I went with my wife to the Carebears Museum exhibit in Shibuya last week...
All I can say is....those colors are PERFECT for a Harajuku release! I think I might be picking up my first set of these....
I remember saying this too...8 sets later...haha... great stuff...I'm waiting to see what the second grouping of figures will look like. anyone have more info on when that might happen?
hanabi set... there will be outdoor pictures of the hanabi set coming this weekend. the set is incredible and i stare at the betarus all of the time
yep that was my splurge at the show in nyc. best purchase i've made in a long time... don't know if you guys have seen this, but i emailed him (the man behind ilanena) and he sent this along to me blacklight sensitive
did anybody on here end up with the sunrise set? all 4 sets were cool but especially the hanabi and sunrise. can't wait to see more pics of the hanabi set....
Ramune is still available...others have sold though...that Hanabi set is ridiculous, as was the sunrise set...
He tried to start a toy/comic show in his hometown About 6~8 years ago I think... or maybe longer ago? Galaxy People Brian was there. I was off traveling somewhere. It was a one-time thing. Otherwise, he sells vintage toys at SUFES usually, and I suppose he mostly just surfs and hangs on the shonan coast. Nice dude.
