Fingers crossed that Mori produces this guy sometime this year.... Or this guy...subtle, pink rub on yellow vinyl with metallic pink and yellow paint...big pics for detail! First pic is from the shop (Mondo's I think..) and second pic is from the S7 RxH show.
Since the mini of the gold one is out I would think it likely that the full size would be next.....or could just be my wishful thinking
I thought the same thing. Did we also see a full-size version of the clear painted mini Chaos there in The Case? I can't remember, but that'd also be a good'un to release full-size.
We did not. Unfortunately. I asked Mori about a standard sized multi colored clear Chaos....and he essentially said that he has not been able to get a completely clear figure from the Chaos mold, that is 99.5% free of bubbles. I even made the point of saying, it would be barely noticeable if a "few" bubbles showed up on some figures, and that the multi colored paint would likely hide any. At the mere suggestion of this, he vehmently shook his head in a negative manner and said "sorry, but I would notice".... I think he'd like to do it, and I believe he'd even audtioned a couple of other factories other than Obitsu to cast it, but the results haven't been to his expectations. Yet. I know its an entirely different mold, but I haven't seen very many people complaining about bubbles in the clear Zags for the custom contest.....and Obitsu did those.
The pink rub on yellow vinyl looks like the Chaos is gettin' eaten alive by worms... Quite a 'gory' edition.
FUCKING YES!!!!! THE DOPE PAINT SPRAYS !!! RELEASED AT SUPERFESTIVAL !!!!! THANK YOU Mori-san !!!!!!! This guy dropped too apparently...looks like a speckled paint or vinyl or both! HOT Chaosman!
I like the gold but now I think I am a bit over it. The Chaos is ok but brighter colors would have been better.
The proof had a green eye too....the release has a blue one....secret chase??????? I'm sure there was a secret release at SF that we haven't seen yet as well....!
I swear there's a pic of the speckled one as a prototype from when Mori's shop opened. Gold impresses, too classy for me though.
Gold full-size to go with the mini. I might go for this one--I like it better than the mini. the speckled chaosman...hmmm I dunno yet. I like brighter colors mostly--but the idea is neat. I'm waiting for the grey head and red evil to drop along with that shintosan. -g
Im all about a Mini Fruity Pebbles and a Mini Salad TT green rub- to complete the mini and big rub set. Loving the Gold though- Will these be coming stateside or is it a good idea to do YA? What do people think? Is the release just an exclusive for the superfest?
this little guy qualify as a secret? Its painted on the clear blacks and seem fewer then both the chaos.
Samba - I'd say most likely you'll see every one of those figures on sale at various online stores not too far down the road. For more and more kaiju companies, there's no such thing as a show exclusive anymore. Personally, even though it does make it harder to collect, I prefer it when an exclusive is an exclusive. Otherwise, people may stop going to shows and other events altogether. And without the events, the hobby just wouldn't be the same. Big gold fellow looks good. Will definitely look awesome alongside the gold mini.
I am imagining what it will look like. I have the mini Ryusei with the same paint app, and I really like how you can see slightly the clear layer before the inner paint. Much like when they pour the glow vinyl into a clear. Don't buy anymore toys, get a camera!!!
Thanks for your insight man- I was more or less thinking the same think about being able to get the releases via the distro. I see your point about show exclusives and the importance of the shows- its a completly different game if your collect and live outside of Japan though. Its strange now- it seems like reverse discrimination, lots of people are saying its even eaiser to get the new releases stateside than it is in Japan. Im not complaining though as its a more even playing field now and it has definately helped with the flipper problem- I wouldnt like to think that international interest has changed elements of the Japan side though. I suspose it effects individual companys rather than the scene as a whole.
I hear what you're saying. I don't live in Japan either, and I think it's very very cool that a few companies have been able to expand their fan bases outside of Asia. But I also think they should set aside a few releases per year that are 100% for such and such event only. Some folks travel a great distance to attend events, and exclusives make them more unique. So, OK let's say you have 5 figures released at a show. Release 3-4 of them through other channels, and make the others pure exclusives. Best of both worlds, eh?
