I think everyone will be surprised at how good it is! And, a really interesting cameo this time with Stan Lee, but as usual, don't blink, or you will miss it.
I saw it last night too and was thoroughly entertained. A great blend of humor, thrills, and eye popping effects. I predict it'll make a few bucks this weekend.
What I saw was a preview screening so no trailers at all. When it gets released this Thursday, it wouldn't be impossible that there'd be a Dark Knight trailer but it doesn't seem likely considering it's a DC title. I'd bet an Incredible Hulk trailer would be more probable.
Ah..Imakes sense. The only thing Ive seen this crappy bootleg trailer which looks pretty killer but grainy http://www.bigshinyrobot.com/reviews/archives/177 sorry for the thread derailment...Anyway...im going to check out iron man tomorrow. Cant wait.
Sweet, wish they'd use that instead of the predictable and unrelated Sabbath song. I'm excited, it's one of the comic movies I had hope for off the bat once I heard who directed/stared in it. I mean, the Dude is in it!
Isn't even in the movie. Just a small remix during the ending credits. Hope you all stayed through the credits. It's worth it.
It's Rhodey's phone ring tone... Really liked it a lot... definitely worth seeing. I'm trying not to let it increase my low expectations for Speed Racer next week.
Previews I saw were, Indiana Jones, Dark Knight, Hulk, some Adam Sandler movie that looked kinda funny, Love Guru, and...hmmm...I think that's it. I also thought it was pretty good. A few oddities on how he became Iron Man but it seemed to work out well. It is a 2 hour movie but it felt like it was just an hour long. The pacing was good and it seemed to flow really well. Hints in the end as to what is coming next should be interesting.
...and it was everything I dreamed it could be. I have never left a movie with a bigger smile on my face than I did last night. As gatchabert says, the movie was paced well and did not drag on like other 2 hour + movies. At the same time, there was not that rushed sense of urgency created by other movies when too much is crammed into too little screen time. There were sufficient winks and nods to other aspects of the Marvel universe to keep my inner geek happy without detracting from the story. The armor design is fantastic, spot-on. I am a giant Iron Man fanboy, so take my input with a grain of salt. However, I think this is definitely one of the better superhero/comic based movies out there.
I thought the acting was really really good. Downey nailed it. I wonder what ever happened to hillary swank? she was cast...I wonder she's chopped from the flick
Luved the cameo at the end. It's a really good movie. I enjoyed it better then that Spiderman trilogy.
Everyone remember to stay until the END of the credits to see the Samuel L Jackson cameo.. otherwise you'll be pissed *edited to exclude a name for someone that it turns out isn't in the scene.
