But not as directed by Rob Zombie, I just saw the trailer for it at a movie I went to last night... WTF!

As unnecessary as it is I am actually kind of excited to see it, I wasn't a huge fan of the movies Rob's made already, but that was mostly because the stories were retarded, stylistically I thought they were actually pretty cool, especially the first one.

I'm not a huge fan of remakes or anything, but at least it's not those tools who remade Texas Chainsaw Massacre doing it, or Uwe Boll or something.

I am real touchy with the remake stuff too, but ever since I saw the trailer for it I have been freaking out. I watch the trailer atleast once a week and get goosebumps everytime. It looks so fucking incredible so far. Alot of his suddleties with camera and sound effects are going to make the atmosphere insane.

Also here (better quality) shown from 9 PM - 4 AM only, apparently:
    <a class=\"postlink\" href=\"http://www.halloween-themovie.com/\">http://www.halloween-themovie.com/</a>

As for the movie, I really, really enjoy Rob's movies but why does he have to do a remake? Halloween is one of my favorite horrors ever, so I'm obviously looking forward to it, but don't quite know what to think. Rob hasn't let me down yet in any way, so I guess I just have to think positively until it comes out.

See the reason I'm kind of looking forward to it is because it is a remake, which is not how I usually feel about remakes, but I just think he might be able to do something cool with a better story, and this is one that I'm sure he has been quite familiar with for a long time.

I don't know I could be totally wrong, it is a pretty big deal to remake this movie and I really hope he did a good job, I just totally forgot hearing about this a while ago until I saw the trailer at the movies last night, it made me giddy.

    dead cats hanging from poles?

the fact that they are remaking battle royale makes me suicidal. i also heard rumors abou them remaking black sunday and black sabbath, which is pretty much the most horrific thing i could imagine.

Rob’s remakes are cool. His movie, ‘House of 1,000 corpses’ was loosely based on the Texas chainsaw massacre. His comic, Spookshow is totally awesome. I heard they are coming out of a cartoon version of it..

    Re: Robz

Come on now, if you said he bit some parts of Texas Chainsaw Massacre maybe, but I would not say loosely based on.

Hey, I heard someone was planning to remake Last House on the Left, maybe the guy that made that movie Ils?

i am going to hold myself back here, because i know you just don't know any better.

there is a difference between remaking a movie, an homage, and just ripping it off a whole bunch. house of a 100 corpses was the latter.

I can't think of a single remake I like. I generally hate them, they're just dolled up for todays market. Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw, Hills Have Eyes. I can't fathom the Battle Royal remake! I've just stopped going, I generally love the originals so much, why would I go see them turned into nu-metal laden, fake "extreme", blurry camera/fast cut scene pieces of crap?

Rob Zombie...I dunno. I stopped caring what that guy did when I was like 19. I always want to hope he'll excite me, but than it never delievers. Maybe I'm being an elitist, if so sorry, but the guy is just lame.

His Movies=Lame. Remakes=Lame. This whole thing reeks. Again, sorry to rain on any parades, just my opinion.

Hollywood has nothing to offer creatively so they're doing craptacular remakes.

Every scene is already storyboarded so add in some trite nods to modern culture and film that shite.

The people doing these remakes aren't fit to shine John Carpenter, George Romero, or Wes Craven's shoes let alone desecrate their work.

    Pathetic.

    Are you all retarded?????????

Rob Zombie is a hack, the fact that he is remaking a film that is so perfect in every way is beyond me, the script is dreadful and the trailer is terrible, 1000 corpses was embarassing and devils rejects was just staid and hackyend beyond belief, is he had any real talent he would stop re-imagining and paying homage and actually get off his lazy ass and create something original and worthwhile.

    oh, you kids...............

Not to sound like a jerk here or anything, but the t-shirt designs you are selling on your site are kind of like what you are saying Rob Zombie is doing with his movies.......... except Rob Zombie has to get permission and pay people for the use of their likeness for the stuff he creates and sells. Were all those images copied from somewhere or are all of those images original created by you ? They look kind of "hacked" to me (or is that an homage?)........ Also, did you get Michael Berryman's permission to use his likeness on a shirt?

Does that make them any less crappy?

They likely got a LARGE paycheck for this.

They did their best work decades ago, they didn't die young and are cashing in now.

These remakes still suck and the hacks making them should die in a fire.

You sound bitter, is it because Rotten Cotton already did the horror movie T-shirt thing better?

I would usually be more inclined to agree with you, but I think I'm softening in my old age  it just doesn't bother me as much anymore for some reason and I can actually enjoy more stuff.

You also have to think that a lot of the old horror movies that people hold so high really aren't technically the best movies by any stretch, but they are enjoyable to watch and because of that you can get over how flawed they may be in whatever way.

In the end House of 1000 corpses was ridiculous, it did rip off many that came before it, but for whatever reason I did enjoy watching it...

and I know Skylar enjoyed watching House of the Dead

I had no problems w/ The Devil's Rejects. I thought it was good. I guess I too am soft in my old age and could honestly care less if they are doing remakes as long as they are enjoyable to watch.

Well, I said the trailer is amazing so, that makes it amazing right?

Opinions, and saying those who like it are retarded is pure ignorance. I LOVE when people are the final say on what is what. Some people just have to realize others can actually; improve on things, make them better, or make something equally as worthy. It took me a long time to watch 1,000 Corpses and Rejects, but after I did I sat back and realized the man can direct, he has a great style and lame story aside, I was visually impressed and actually entertained in one way or another.

Ractrur makes a damn good point : o

Rac, actually most of our designs are official and the ones that are not are designs by us that have been changed by over 30% from the original image

yeah thats right count I am bitter, in fact so bitter we are wholesaling to Shawn from RC some of our designs such as Squirm , In fact there style is completeley different to ours as we wanted a more graphic style than straight movie poster style..........
My point was that this guy is being lauded by 15 year old metal boys as the saviour of horror and yet his movies are not great by any stretch and yes opinions are like assholes everybody has one and my opinion is that Halloween is an all time classic thats pitch perfect and no one should be allowed to touch, it is widley regarded as one of the best horror films of all time and is always talked about in film circles because of the fantastic score, editing, cinematography etc..... the fact that he has been refilming footage for 6 weeks and added six kills and a new ending for all you kids says it all to me, again the script is dreadful, this film is a new low for horror, and if anyone thinks he can improve on the original then you aint no horror fan i dont think you are even film fans......again my opinion.

R & C no matter how much I disagree with people on the boards I never sink to personal insults.....

In my opinion you have a lot to learn about Trademark, Copyright, and Right of Publicity laws. It does not matter if you "alter" an image 30% from the original. If the image still looks like the celebrity, logo, Movie Poster, etc., it is illegal to use unless the proper authorization is given and the proper releases have been signed. With proper authorization there is usually a fee that is paid to the "likeness" on all profit gained from the use of the image.

"The Right of Publicity prevents the unauthorized commercial use of an individual's name, likeness, or other recognizable aspects of one's persona. It gives an individual the exclusive right to license the use of their identity for commercial promotion."

"The Right of Publicity is largely protected by state common or statutory law. Only about half the states have distinctly recognized a Right of Publicity. Of these, many do not recognize a right by that name but protect it as part of the Right of Privacy. The Restatement Second of Torts recognizes four types of invasions of privacy: intrusion, appropriation of name or likeness, unreasonable publicity and false light. See Restatement (Second) Of Torts §§ 652A - 652I. Under the Restatement's formulation, the invasion of the Right of Publicity is most similar to the unauthorized appropriation of one's name orlikeness. See Restatement (Second) of Torts § 652C, comments a & b, illustrations 1 & 2."

"The Right of Publicity is protected through the law of unfair competition. Actions for the tort of misappropriation or for a wrongful attempt to "pass off" the product as endorsed or produced by the individual help to protect the right of publicity."

"If a person can establish an aspect of his or her identity as a trademark, protection may be provided by Federal law."

So, in the case of your "Berryman" t shirt, unless you have gotten specific permission from him to use his likeness on your t-shirt, you are breaking violating the law and opening yourself up to lawsuit. The image you are using of his face is obviously from the "The Hills Have Eyes" movie poster and you even name the shirt "Berryman". Basically you are profiting from his image and the movie poster and using it in a way that he and the movie studio did not authorize. I would be very careful doing such things.

What is funny is that you are bashing Rob Zombie for not having any talent and that he should get off of his lazy ass and create something original...... 90% of your shirt designs are from photos, movie posters, movie stills, etc. with a photoshop posterize filter applied to them. Basically, you are being more of a hack than he is, at least he has to create something original from the re-imagining that he does. You are taking art work and "modifying" it and that is all........ there is no new art, there is no new idea, just a rehash of an original design that was 100% better if it had been left alone.
