I'm not sure how I feel about this one, at least they tried something different. Certainly not as cool as Bemon but might look good painted. (picture from http://sofvi-news.sblo.jp/article/7798158.html)
Yikes! Think I'll stick to the original (bootleg). Not really down with Hukkokudo's more recent paint apps either (or lack thereof)...
hmmmmm.. looks strange as i'm so used to the original bemon sculp. not sure about the arms and legs, the textures on the body are pretty cool though. this def can't compete with mr.h's version.. but i also agree, its nice they went in a little different direction instead of straight up jacking the sculp.
Well now that the photo up here (that was elsewhere)... Arms look too long and have Gas Bawer hands (nothing wrong with the hands). Arms look pinned onto the body, shoulders don't merge with the body. Articulation in the waist or legs would have been cool. Think Bigaroid. Or maybe asymmetrical hands and articulation at the wrists. I like it. Not 110 percent into it.
Blah!!!......I bet Bemon Honda is laughing his ass off!!!!!!!!!!!!! and relieved this rip-off looks so half-assed and retarded...I mean sculpturaly challenged.....I'll take the Bemon over this Fugly rip-off any day ....no spray can save this sculpt. This Smogun II actually makes the Honda Bemon seem even more brilliant and desirable !
I'm trying to like it, it's not all bad, the body looks a little weak as far as detail goes and why does he have a kermit collar? it's face it kind of cool it's growing on me already but the mouth looks like a hairlip
I've never owned a Bemon, but I did have one Gas Bauer and I liked him a lot. This sculpt is very cool. I like the more humanoid aspect of it, but the arms just look 'slapped on' for lack of a better descriptor. Still, I wouldn't mind picking one up if a) the paint application worked, b) it could actually be obtained easily.
I've always thought Bemon's puffy shoulders looked a little bit like he was wearing a dress, but now it's official. Smogon #2 is wearing a Christmas dress. I'm still lukewarm on this sculpt, but if Hukkokudo does some nice vintage style paint jobs it might be worth getting. Bemon hasn't really done simple/sloppy IKB style paints and thats what I like.
Man I really don't like this. There is really no flow to it. The arms look like they where from a totally different figure and slapped on. The face is alright but I think my mind is stuck on the original bootleg version we all know and love. I hope this was a test shot and will receive some tweeks.
japan toys the bootleg one is smogier with its stuffy tummy--not feeling the sculpt of this new one. i dont know if it will improve with paint at all
does anyone have a good pic of an original IKB header? I have a really crappy one but it looked like Hukkokudo was trying design the arms closer to the header art.
