Wonder who paints the Yamazakura figs. Loving some of the color choices, especially on the HPs. Even the normal releases have really nice minimalistic sprays.
Matango wasn't X-Plus. CCP didn't have anything at WF this year. There's a pretty similar old sculpt from X-Plus many moons ago - not too sure who did do that.
$200-$250 seems about right. Like Josh said, it's big and heavy. Stunning piece with articulation at the elbows and at the base of the head where the eye stalks sprout. And I didn't notice it from the photos but googly eyes like the Bwana's Cosmos Hedorah.
So I discovered this while searching today. Apparently it's a resin prototype by Satoshi Hasimoto (when translated): http://www.ne.jp/asahi/paopao/wonderlan ... tango.html no other info really on production. (scroll to bottom) I think the manufacturer is Pao?
Can anyone give me info on this toy (manufacturer?) I saw one on Mandarake, but it was sold out. I really love this figure, if any one sees one up for adoption, I would appreciate an alert P.S. THANK YOU Abelincolnjr, for posting that photo!
Hey Mr Humphreys Those are made by Nakayoshi, they release things sporadically but I have their unpainteds of some Ultra Monsters on my long standing grail list. Japanse characters are なかよし Good Luck. If you see any of my grails lemme know
Thank you Abelincolnjr! I'll definitely let you know if I see any of his figures on your grail list. Thanks again for sharing that photo and the search string!
Yeah I'm not really into model kits but some of those Matango men are amazing. I spent a good 2 hours yesterday searching the translations and coming up with absolutely nothing about any of the companies. I even cut an paste the japanese text. Google really blows as a search engine. I constantly stump it everyday.
Yeah, they're probably just straight up resin garage kits made in single-digit runs (not that we're unfamiliar with that around here ). We'd have to raid a hobby show to get our hands on these. Then...I'd have to find the time in the day to clean, trim, assemble, and paint them!
