    Help! Moving to L.A.
    Hey guys,

Looks like I will be moving to L.A. very soon.

I am already on the job hunt, but do you guys have any resources that I might look into?

My expertise is in fine art photography (MFA in 2005), but I have done a whole lot of commercial photography as well, and I am currently a graphic designer at Cornell University. I also have web design skills. I think I have a pretty good skill set (no bragging intended at all). Above all this I would really like to get back into teaching, photo or digital media, undergrad and graduate level.

I have a membership to CAAA, so I am looking for teaching jobs there, as well as Craigslist. Any other resources I should tap into?

Outside of job stuff, I am also looking for a place to live. I am seeking something close to USC, is safe, and relatively affordable? I hear Korea Town is upcoming (gentrified)? Where else should I focus my attention? Resources?

This stuff is really hard to do when you are on the entire other side of the country!

It's a crazy time, I would really appreciate any RFSO hook-ups!

If you're looking at Koreatown, check out The Langham Apartments, or any of the nearby, newly-renovated buildings. I lived there for two years while I was in LA (until last year), and never had any problems in the neighborhood. It's about a 10-15 minute drive to USC in the morning. Rent is still relatively affordable given its location, although I noticed that it was going up when I left.
