when visiting nyc this autum i also went to atmos harlem 125th or so by taxi ...because of sneakers heard the area was supposed to be ok for white men also but when i got out of the taxi i was feeling sooo uncomfortable. u have to know im from europe and it was the first time looking down a crowded street only seeing afro-american people then i wasnt longer sure it was a safe place to go. as i didnt want to take out my map i went down the street straight into a burger king to look up for the first time checking how people would react to our presence (me and my girlfriend) seemed to be ok and we could relax a little. after checking out where atmos was located we went there straight. and as sneakers sucked i decided to buy one of the expensive obakes (blue) for a hundred to make this trip to harlem succesfull. now after talking to some friends in nyc i guess it is ok to go there whatever ur "tein" is besides this was the beginning of a love for sb figures. (besides bricks & kaws i was into bxh before ) still a fxxxing expensive love! ... again felt like a rookie couple of weeks ago when s.o. on the kidrobot board said that no one would ever buy atmos sb figures for a hundred each - totally absurd price. but things seem to relativate pretty fast these days
I am sure there are plenty of people on this board who would pay $100+ for an atmos Obake figure. That was a good place to start! Congratulations!
I passed up those obakes at atmos back then for a hundy, then homeboy dropped the price to $80....I still didn't buy'em...I kind of regret it now because they are all gone! oh well
