Wanted to share some resin pieces done by Japanese artist Gumtaro. These were from the last One Up Pandemonium show. Also has the awesome Gizilla vinyl as well, will have to take pics soon. The quality on this sculpt and the others are nuts.
Gizalla is a neat little toy. Got one of these blank greens as part of a toy trade a while back and the sculpt has really grown on me. Also grabbed one of the blank GiD's from One-Up last week. I'll post a pic once it's in hand.
No apologies needed, thanks for saving me the trouble! That's a great little collection you have going, E. Really like the painted GiD and that purple/blue one. What color is the blank in the last pic?
My favorite Gumtaro sculpt is "Gajora" or "Gajyolla" This red one is the OG resin version ( pics from Trampt) This is the vinyl version ( painted by me ) I love how his head is like a pagoda tower with eyes.
Dude thats not even gid! Its milky clear painted, so beautiful. The last one is orange just couldn't get it to come clear through the shot.
Yeah, it is a pretty crazy, original sculpt. Gumtaro definitely had a unique aesthetic. Gizilla is pretty funky looking as it is, but your version is really nice Rei. The gentle highlight colourscheme is not unlike something you might see from M1 or B-club, with a little neo design and metallic thrown into the mix.
View this post on Instagram Gumataro has recently started a new micro series called Chikuwa Series through Oneup Toy. So far there is Chikuwa Ghost and Chikuwa Tank. Such fantastic sculpts!
Oh, I expect big things. Little things! I'm not sure I understand the distended cannon thing, but after seeing Bwana's for a while, and now this, I guess I'm getting used to it. These make make little hungry for some reason!
one up,gumtaro, pico pico and the immortal Goto san all featured in this.... the video is to promote a collab between VW and Gumtaro, sold by lottery with only Japanese entry also Gumtaro has a cool new double octopus sculpt ready to be pulled
I quite like these "Cloth-like alien Pull Blue people". 2nd colored version available now in Gumtaro's online shop. Spoiler: Reminds me of...
I'm so smitten with Gumtaro and his taste in things. The monsters and designs constantly fluctuating/morphing/branching off into mutations is just so good. I couldn't resist pitching an offer on this (did I pick it up from someone here? I can't tell!), and I'm pretty much blown away by the size/scale of it. Taro Monster Gebira The colors are stunning to me, in a King Caesar/Shisa kind of way. And I almost wish you could easily pull apart the Taro half of the head. It looks like the one-off sculpture he did had this feature! Spoiler
