How you going to do the "dibs on that" order this time? FCFS at showtime, or meet in the AM for line position as with MIM show?
There will be a number of guests coming in from out of town for this event, so we are probably going to hand out line numbers again at the store opening, which will be noon on that Saturday. Your line number will be good for purchases at both events, Star Wars begins at 5 pm and Grinning Death at 7 pm. Raffle tickets will be given out all night long, per the usual manner, then at 8:30, we will do the big prize giveaway session. More to come in the ensuing days, but right now I have to go walk around Prague for a little bit and forget about toys for awhile.
Tease # 1 of 3 , the other 2 images will be posted on both kaiju Chronicle and toybotstudios 1 off Doji San says hi !
I'm not clear why OOT guests are best served by early-in-the-day line numbers. Probably none of these OOT guests are going to be lining up at the store at 5 AM as did some of the locals last time this was done, especially if they got in late the night before or don't arrive until later in the day on Saturday. In fact, as I recall, at the MIM show there were no out of towners (unless you count Tampa or Orlando) at the 11 AM store opening at all. And if you aren't there at the opening, you're going to get a high line number anyway. Line numbers at store opening require a double trip to the store, which can take up an entire day if you're an hour or so out or chop the day in two if you're local or have landed in town to stay just for the day or weekend. Anyone flying or driving in the same day would probably expect to stand in line before the show. Why would they want to spend the morning doing that as well waiting for the store opening? And if they arrive even an hour after store opening, they have no chance at an early number anyway, which they would if the line started nearer to show time. What am I missing here?
Being an OOT guest flyin in, I'm not so worried about what I get to buy at the show, after all with a list like that of which MVH will be bringing, i'm sure there's something I will like no matter my placement in line. One more week, why is the home stretch always the longest!?!?! Lookin forward to it!
I don't really care one way or the other but If I went to the effort and expense of flying in specifically for a show I would at least want the option of showing up early, camping out, and getting one of the first shots. I do agree with you on the double trip although Orlando found a way to occupy themselves during the day. There is no perfect system, they're all compromises. There's always ascending alphabetical order by board name
I have always preferred descending alphabetical order, which is infinitely more fair, as I'm sure everyone will agree. But as for camping out, why couldn't you do that before the show, as opposed to before the store opening? That way, even the folks who arrived the day of the show would get a shot at it. But, not going to take a stand here. I'm just happy to be local to the best damn toy store and gallery in the country. S7F pwns!
The FLASK community is quite small in comparison to the Westies, but imagine handling a 200+ line any other way than first come first serve. It's all for the love of toys, and the earlier you are or the farther you travel just shows your dedication. Now stop whining and show up early, your a local damnit!
I heard that if you have a Super7 tatt, you are automatically 1st in line & get double raffle tickets...
$300 just went into a broken down a/c unit at my rental property.. so much for scoring anything next weekend.. I got's no camera for cool pix and no fucking money for cool toys.. oh' well, scott better double up on those pabst blue ribbons super fucking pissed off in a major bad way..
There is still the chance to score a free unpainted sludgie in some games, plus free booze ... its still a win win
Hey can anyone help me out? The line numbers are handed out at 12, but then do you have to stay there waiting until 7 or could you go do something else?
