Frank Frazetta! Mecha Greasebat in a loincloth! On an asteroid! In space! With a buxom woman at his feet!
Green rub like the original Chauskoskis prototype. MPH booth at NYCC. http://www.myplasticblog.com/toy-releas ... exclusive/
FINALLY!!!! Seriously- I have been waiting for years, holding off on buying a Greasebat in hopes that one day THIS would be released. Many was the time my finger was on the trigger for an unpainted in someone's sales thread, figuring, "Ah, fuck it, I'll just buy this one and paint it myself to match that original, glorious Chauskoskis proto-paint." This is an absolute must-have for me... looks like I need a NYCC favor...
Seeing Mike post and thinking about Greasebat made me think - Has there been a Garamon Greasebat yet? He looks like he'd be perfect for it!
Jeff told me long ago, when Greasebat first hit, that he was indeed Garamonically-inspired… a Gara-homage color version would be awesome!
I really dig how the black rub gives it an inky feeling. It really brings out the features to make it look more cartoony and more like Jeff's drawings. And Greasamonbat sounds nice but first bring us the Mecha one first!
Thanks guys, it does look almost exactly like Walters painted prototype... Yeah the red one was Garamon inspired, although I might like to try that again with a more cream colored face and some other changes...boney hands...
Exclusive to the Designer Toy Awards show on Saturday Oct 13: the event will be located at Providence NYC (311 West 57th St., New York, NY 10019).
Love that green rub version Jeff, looks great! I thought that a pupil less GB would weird me out, but i think he kind of looks like he's sleeping or in deep thought. Yeah, I'll go with that.
MW is prolific right now, good luck with all your releases guys. And who's going to pick me up one of those brown/GID mixes?
haha! I was worried the blanks would look too much like a cheap spencer gifts generic alien toy...but the large pupil-less area reminds me more of a Kamen Rider mask. Plus I love blank vinyl, it looks edible.
