there is one on the bay that i am watching with a bin for $350.....is this steep or a decent price? since i got the mook and saw the page of mechanikongs i really want one.....if any one is already chasing this one please lmk, otherwise i may go for it..... or if anybody has one they want to unload, give me a shout.... thanks- -jeremy
In my opinion, that's a decent/average price assuming good condition - I think I've seen them run from a low of about $275 (fair to good condition) to $400 or so. There are also different color variants with the dark blue being the most common, I believe. FWIW.
BTW, anyone know why M1 hasn't reissued this one? I'm assuming it's some sort of licensing issue because it involves "king kong" and thus someone other than Toho may own the dude (or there's fear on M1's part that Ted Turner or whoever will come after them for producing a mechanikong dude). Inquiring minds want to know.
thanks for the info elvis.....my guess would go along with yours.....trademark rights may be hard to obtain.....but i'm sure other vintage collectors could chime in with more informed guesses than mine......
I've asked Yuji about this, he says yes, it's a licensing issue since it's associated with King Kong.
Thanks guys. Phew! I can cross that one off my list of burning questions. On to the next one - anyone know if there's other life forms in the universe?
mine isnt in the best shape but it isn't terrible by any means - i paid around 160 for mine before fees
