Godzilla hates Phelps. This is how these people make money. The powers that be at Westboro are lawyers. They go to funerals and events where there will be media and try to incite people to react in ways for which suits can be brought against municipalities or individuals. Westboro Baptist are the scum of the earth. That's one thing that American liberals, conservatives, and moderates pretty much agree on 100%.
That's Charlie. He's always at one of the bars I frequent. That was his Saturday sign. His Sunday sign said "Has anyone seen my testicles?"
when my buddy sent me this yesterday morning i was amused by the sheer absurdity of it... picking superman & batman [the good guys!] of all the 'questionable' things at sdcc struck me as especially hilarious. i figured i'd post it for a few laughs & perhaps someone would have more info on these whack jobs. what i didn't realize was that these people weren't just ordinary idiots, but full blown hate mongers!! quite disgusting. can't wait to see their reaction to my batman tattoo when i see these guys in hell the counter-protests are simply amazing, hope these jerk offs get an equally warm reception in san diego, as i'm sure con goers would come up with some pretty great signs. @ missy - i love chick tracts... so dramatic & always good for a laugh. incidentally, chick publications is about a mile from my house. i've considered going in to see what they have available, but i like encountering them randomly too much.
Not just theirs, but all religious tax exemptions. Tax the church the same as a business - after all, some of these churches are essentially mult-million dollar corporations.
Horrible. 1) To be prejudice is to think you are better then another which is pride. Pride is a sin. Jesus said if you've sinned STFU! 2) Indoctrinating your kids to be full of hate and prejudism should be considered child abuse.
Not every church. I've seen churches and temples that can hardly get by and it's not some BS story to line pockets. They don't profit and can hardly keep the doors open and the people who go WANT the doors open and do legit and good things for their communities. The "Church" of Scientology is a totally different animal I won't get into. I agree though, some of the big mega-million dollar freak-churches should be looked into as well.
Agreed. What I meant, but didn't actually write, was that the tax scale for religious entities should be similar to that for individuals/corporations - if you're making a shit ton of money, you're gonna pay high taxes. If you can't make ends meet, you're not. And if you're doing okay, you'll be moderately taxed. I know that isn't entirely accurate, but I don't feel like going much deeper, and I think I got the gist of my idea across a bit better.
warren ellis posted this on his site today. bunch of links in there that didn't transfer, so here's the post if you feel like taking some jumps... http://www.warrenellis.com/?p=10086 sounds good, turning the other cheek and all that... but i'm secretly hoping that a cosplay justice league takes this into their own hands, so that the headline reads something like 'meanwhile at comic con... justice league smashes hate group'
i'd love to make some bootleg "god hates nerds" shirts and hang out with the protesters, flipping for profit! "Get yer official god hates nerds shirt right here!"
Counter protest at SDCC - go geeks! Full story here.. http://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/07/2 ... st-church/
Darkseid IS! i love it! and another reason why gail simone rules... man, counter-protesting looks like fun!
