I went to K mart yesterday to see if I could answer what many have asked me. Can balls be painted? The answer is yes. With regular Tamiya acrylics. They are hard to airbrush though. need to hit them verly lightly and have a layer of them in the bottom of a flat tupperware container so thay are locked in place and not moving. But it's nice to have color+glow. I used all clear paints, but if one wans a day/night you would need to use opaques.
Bee-yoo-tiful! Mazinger Z is my favourite, and this is an awesome deco! Hope you feel better soon... not too many paint fumes, is it? ^_^
Yes, you have to be careful about exhaustion. I've been struck down several times now by it, and dread it possibly happening again once exam week is over. >_< A friend of mine ended up in the hospital from working too hard! So relax a bit, 'kay? We all need to see more of your wonderful works, and I think I'm about to have some more work for you too! ^_^ Take care of yourself!
I want to still try that. The ones in the Mazinga look like stale old candy I've seen left in old clear bunny easter candy dispensers for sale in some antique stores. Stale and the colorful shell had faded.
do you mean, each glow ball being painted half pink, or do you mean half of the balls would be glow, and the other half would pink? You could probably just put a bunch of balls in something like silly putty halfway in, and then spray the exposed halves.
Yeah! That would work. You would end up with paint filled silly putty... or even better..fill you fig with the silly putty!
My work has to do with cable and satellite set-top-boxes, and a bunch of us have like 5 or 6 different boxes and remotes in our offices, so we use silly putty to block off the IR receivers on the boxes we're not currently working on.
if i remember correctly from being young and having a bunch of crazy silly putty colors it picks up the colors and shows them except for black the weirdest one i had was gid pink
DAMN U PAUL! i've got three toys i want u to work on and now u are gonna make me ask u for custom bbs as well. forever your slave, Jackie
DAMN! The stale candy look makes that Mazinger seem vintage in someway even more. Sort of like bringing back childhood memories with an image and a smell combined. I would love to see you custom make either a GID guts or skeleton for one of these clear figures and not just shavings. I'm sure that would be quite intense.
