I was looking for a general resin thread, but there doesn’t seem to be one. Guess this will do! I’m not sure how many people here still buy/collect resin toys or even make them. Hopefully a few. Post photos, share creations, ask questions, idc.
I have… questions. I haven’t sculpted or cast a resin toy since 2014. Has anything changed since then? Is Smooth-On still the most recommended resin brand? Are there any new molding techniques, or are the good ol’ legos still being used? Did prices go up or down enough to be worth mentioning? I want to get back into sculpting this semester in ceramics, and also at home on a smaller scale. No more pinch pots.
Sorry for self-bumping but I really don’t know who else to ask about this. I haven’t been in contact with any resin-casters for about 8 years.
