Gargamel vs Shady Claims/Resellers/Flippers

I was referring specifically to people that attempt to defraud G and other companies by reporting items missing, packages lost, etc.- not resellers.

totally shocked and pissed too about this incident, really give Singapore a bad name....i will definitely want to find out who these people are.

 

Where do 2nd hand sellers like Mandarake fit into this picture? I know they haven't been mentioned in the blog post or anything like that, I'm just curious how they (and services like them) are perceived in general.

 

its the clean, 'honest' way to flip and keep that keyser soze vibe going.

you get a sweet toy, take it to Mandarake and they sell it for you, get their cut, you get yours. Winner, winner chicken dinner!!

While there are some exceptions and they can be all over the map, Mandarake's prices are usually less than retail, especially on secondhand items, sometimes quite significantly less. I assume they are probably buying those items for half of what they selling them for, which is pretty standard for professional resellers. This is very different from seeking out items out of speculation that they could be sold for significantly over retail immediately, and doing so.

I have seen stuff flipped I recognize being purchased from Mandarake much more often than I have seen things in their store and thought the prices were inappropriate or it was a flip itself.

 

There are some deals to be found on Mandarake amongst the commodities bought on speculation to sell at triple retail.

 

Hm, ok. I've bought from them a few times online before and wanted to make sure that Gargamel wouldn't be upset with me.

 

I have boughten figures from people here on skullbrain for the same price that I've gotten toys on Mandarake. There are still some toys that have higher price tags than other locations though.

If you sell something through Mandarake do you set the price, or is it based on the items worth?

 

Honestly, if your stuff is being resold by Mandarake, I would be proud because it means you are still relevant.
