Thank you! The background was a made by my mates kid, she loves monsters. Under the led strips it's a proper alien disco. I got the lots of them from Gumtaro himself;such a friendly and accommodating dude.
That's fantastic. He does seem appreciative and friendly! Is the resin/stone powder piece from the front row a one-off?
I really don't know, I have seen two other versions in different colours.I am still unsure if its resin or clay. I don't know if you can cast in stonepowder clay but I have 3 pieces by him in the same material,of which there are several different paint versions.
this week. It bugs me when my collection is in a place that feels less like a display and more like “I just keep these in here”. This shelf is way too small for these guys, but I made it work for me.
I definitely don’t think that those large figures look out of place in that display at all. I’m fact, displays like this make me want to expand my meager licensed tokusatsu collection. It’s really nice.
thanks. What I think is special is that these never go “out of style” and the colors and textures are vast. I’m glad I could focus on this a bit —and that I’ll keep a chunk after sales that I can build on whenever. So many designs to appreciate—and it doesn’t require being well-versed in the source material—but I like to watch the shows. It just goes to show how strong these designs and sculpts are. People are still learning from them and inspired by the work.
Been in the process of moving for about 3 months now and while this isn't necessarily my favorite shelf, it's the only one left that's not currently a complete mess
Thanks for the kind words. Organizing shelves is very therapeutic for me so I’m always tinkering. I’m humbled that people find the results of my therapy aesthetically pleasing
I’m hoping to get a nice case like that soon so I can tap into some of that shelf therapy myself! Can’t wait to see what shelves you post next.
@Sophie Campbell Great toys! Just love those colors! I use wood 2x4's, 4x4's, and 2x2's cut to lengths I need. You can spray paint them in color too. Very inexpensive. You can see what I did here http://skullbrain.org/bb/index.php?threads/favorite-shelf.26887/page-162#post-994003 Welcome to the boards Sophie!
Thanks! That's a great idea with the 2x4s, I might look into that. I do have some acrylic risers but I can never find ones that are wide enough, but this wood idea could work!
Temporary shelf until my partner and I move to a new place but still my absolute favorite. My pride and joy, loving green.
Faced with somewhat of a dilemma here. I miscalculated and ordered a 3ft wide showcase when I should have ordered a 4ft wide one. I'm dumb and kicking myself right now, but all in all it's still my favorite shelf/display case I've owned. May still keep it after I upgrade to the wider one, but on the off chance that anyone local to Houston is interested in it, let me know!
