Pendragon is in Germany as well and they do Mexican bootleg-style production. so far it’s not as flooded as the American side and folk here don’t seem to pass through tattoo artist in order to get to sofubi designer. the work so far is alright, but too much Brussels comic book boom and dr who. Influences. it’s alright so far
I wasn't sure if they were French National based elsewhere or based in France. Either way though I really like the look of their stuff and their style, feels kind of modern and traditional. Forgot about these. I only recently stumbled across the old Kaijyu Battlegrounds and Astro Rangers stuff on the ShinGangu blog, does anyone know what happened with those? Loved the look of them, especially the old playsets.
I think slingshot is now based out of ABQ New Mexico. Pendragon produces the roto vinyl through AYN Kreativ out of Mexico. you also have CZEE13 Rainbow Yawn Ms. Muju Scum house toys Sickemil and some of the earliest MOTU bootleggers Frankenlander Facker Toys
I've seen Muju at some UK shows and have some bootleg mimp from Rainbow Yawn but hadn't heard of the others. There seems to be loads of great artists and sculptors over here, Mike Strick is another, but they tend to stick to resin/3D printing (maybe that's the case in most places). Soft vinyl stuff tends to happen via customs or collabs. And Corlen Scope too, not sofubi but a great artist and 3D printed toy maker. Dansin is a tattooer out of Luxembourg and heavily illustrates Japanese designs, and also has a good handful of some pretty amazing yokai toys. These are the two I own. Hoping to add more at DCon this year.
Some stuff went up on Marusan London today but it looks like only the Bondora reissue is left. I know there were people who missed the Roguilla pre-order, maybe he'll pop up here eventually too.
I'm getting old but is there a Sour Lemon Sofubi thread? The new head is amazing. Rad toy and I know some people are complete.
