^Thanks. The flesh ones take paint really well.

This one's done and on it's way to TAG. Of all the HPs so far, this one is closest to the image I had in my brain while making this toy.

Dustin, these are so awesome. Takes me back to elementary school and drawing dinos! Can't wait to see one in person at TAG tomorrow.

Sweet figure Dustin. The Swapmeet looked like a lot of fun. i saw a few things in pictures that I would have liked to pick up.
I don't feel to bad though since I scored this guy at the TAG show. :D

Awesome, Connell! I'm really happy with that one, glad you like it. It's definitely a departure from the sprayed-on paint apps but I liked the way the brushwork brought out all the texture. Thanks again supporting me and my little dinosaurs. :D

A little late to the party still I have to say these colors are awesome, they remind me of the cave scenes in Mothra, where the islanders are worshiping.
That color scheme is a classically used lighting scheme from the 60's, mainly used for otherworldly photo shoots.

That's great! The realistic Bee colors contrasted with the funky wings is perfect.

Really great, Dustin... I even like the denim shorts, and I HATE denim.
(Proud to say I haven't had any denim in my wardrobe since about 1990.)

    Hey, thanks a lot everybody!

Boris is such a great little character and the figure is wonderfully detailed (especially for a pocket). I just tried to paint it in a way that would show off the awesomeness that Bwana and Gargamel put into it.

I wanted him to look like a happy little buddy that would hang out with you on a sunny afternoon...like he'd show up at your BBQ or something and everybody would be glad he made it.

Felt inspired to paint some more dinos. Knocked out a couple more and put 'em in my shop. Check 'em out.

Sonofa...Connell, it was YOU who beat me (and likely others) to the TAG version of the Ankylo!

Anyway, I just discovered this thread (calling the parent forum "Show Your Collection" doesn't exactly entice me to click here often  ). I don't actually have anything useful to contribute other than to say you rock, Dustin. Your being successful with these guys is actually really inspirational for me. Positivity in this hobby's in short supply these days, and this is one of the few projects that I feel motivates me in my own toy-making endeavors.

    Keep doing your thing, man!

    Thanks, Sanjeev.

I'm really happy with these little dinosaurs. It's nice to have the freedom to pull them and paint them whenever I want as opposed to tracking down specific figures to customize.

Also, my Ankylosaur is just that...mine. I can paint it however I want and not have to worry about people being upset that I "ruined" it.

Finally, I've seen the results of your toy-making endeavors and been amazed. The stuff you're doing is on a different level entirely so don't sell yourself short.

    ^ Thanks!

Here's a little better shot of the wings, the sunlight in the other pics kinda washed them out. I was going for a dragonfly-type effect on them with the silver/purple/green/copper. Needed something to slam against the flat colors on the rest of the figure and I wanted the wings to have a bit of an iridescent quality to them.
