Mystery "toymaker" should be sensitive enough to let others share the love, especially in annual gig like this. Where tons of hassle takes place. Connell, just wondering, any attempts of bringing this up, first hand to the "toymaker" personally?
You would have made a stronger statement by not buying anything rather than posting it to a message board where it may or may not be read.
Nah. It's good to vent your frustration over a crap situation like that. Whether the offending parties read it or not.
bumped into tia carrere, dennis miller and saw natalie portman introduce the movie she's in ("Hesher" - which was funny as hell btw) <3
In the abstract, that's a good point. In practice, the toymaker would probably sell out anyway and they shrug it off. In practice, knowing who that toymaker was and letting several hundred people decide if that's the kind of business they want to support would probably have the greatest impact.
That's exactly what I was doing. The "Dear Toymaker" letter was more of an exercise for me than them as I had already personally let them know my feelings. As far as not buying anything from them in protest that's just not my style. I LIKE this person and I admire the work they do and to be perfectly honest I will most likely keep buying there toys. My passion and support for their work is what made this extra hard for me to swallow. As a post script, another board member sought me out on the convention floor and hooked me up with one of the figures I had missed.
thanks for the heads up joe. before the movie she threw a kiss to the crowd. pretty sure it was directed towards me
Doh, yea and you could have gotten to see your girl again haha. Thanks for the tip now I dont have to wait until January to see it.
Glad you were able to score one Connell. That was one of the most disappointing events we attended at SDCC.
Oh, and maybe some could understand this if you were in line for the Monster Family signing that included Horvath.
best time at sdcc in nearly a decade. it was great to see carl & scott[hms] again, and very cool to finally meet more board members no matter how brief. i will say that a warm reception from the s7 guys & connell's smiling face after being inside for 5 minutes started the day in a way that no frothing mob of nerdgasm could have possibly ruined. and i think kristin has a crush on carl... or ultra paul ..or both.
I went there for toys but got caught up in a vampire knight. My girlfriend, brother and I looking as tough as these awful anime guys. "greasebat is where it's at" hope you guys all took advantage of this free photo
