OK, so you probably all by now know about the Helio sponsored lottery Pollard giveaway, right? (If u don't, the info is right here: http://www.heliomag.com/tim-biskup-part ... llard.html ) Anyway, Pete n me headed down there to pick up our winning Pollards - I mean, how great is that? At SDCC last year you had to enter a lottery to BUY a Pollard. At the Helio store you entered a raffle to be GIVEN a Pollard. I like those raffles much better. Plus, thanks to an over complex implementation of the lottery, and what appears to be a lack of people willing to or able to get to the store, everyone I know who wanted one, got one! (even Henry was sorted out in the end I think). Add to this the fact that the event was DJ'd by Tim, catered with LOTS of waiter served nibbles AND a FREE BAR - and it was a mellow, friendly and FUN event. I screwed up by bringing the Pugs, and of course not being allowed to bring em in - BUT, it still ruled. So a nice event, and sure, its all about marketing to teh right demo, but a genuine thanks to Helio and Tim for doing this. FREEEEEEEEEEE GID Pollards - woooooooooo hoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Tim and the crew removed all the display phones and replaced 'em with these. Of course, I already have all these guys....NOTTTTTTTTTT! So which ones are the punks? Must be the orange guys, cos it certainly isn't Pete, Miyoko and Steveo .... well, maybe Steveo Yes, a definite RFSO look being modeled by these two hotties. That’s a HELIO Martini btw - did I mention it was free? More easy to get TB rarities: mmm, Pollardz: Sketchbooks filled with unseen goodies like these: And there he is! Tim managed to DJ and simultaneously draw and sign! With powers like that, its no wonder he was surrounded by a gaggle of non-skanky looking super hotties. It seems that Kaiju influenced artist cum toy designers ARE the new rock n roll stars...atleast in Santa Monica...on a Wednesday night..... And, just in case u forgot, here was the object of our desire ...errr... apart from Tim and his skinny jeans that is..... PS. The evening was finished off very nicely by the some of the Helio marketing guys sorting out a few people who amazingly didn't win the lottery (it seems most of us did), by handing then some left over Pollards. Apparently the rest of 'em were last seen sticking out of the dumpster out back at teh Helio store, and one was on the front of a local homeless celebs shopping cart which whizzed by Nice score Homie!
Love those Drags, and hope the clear blue is part of the standard release (I think there are supposed to be eight..) Thankfully, I got an unexpected hook-up from a board member here, so that glowy Pollard object of desire will soon be mine! Thanks for sharing the pix....so much to drool over!
