Wow, I haven't seen an informative post as that one in quite some time. I have never seen a photo for the Micro Rumina Borg. That is so awesome. I wish I could find the older Gargamel Dokuromen but they seem so hard to come by.
hey Adam thanks for posting all that info! Does that kinky green micro knockoff in the 2nd pic have a specific name? I have searched for one on YHJ in the "microman" listings but never see them. PS: Awesome 1st version "microshit" BU casually sitting in the 2nd pic as well.
Thanks for the compliments. Muton: Sorry, I'm not sure who Oka is, but these were at a little Medicom stand which was shoved in beside Toy Tokyo if I recall correctly. I totally agree, I'd love to have those additional sets, I'm really glad I snapped off the pics of those because I've not seen them anywhere else. Kichigai: I have no idea what the original release was named. I do know however that years later they were put out for real as legit Rainbowman kits which had two different heads. Between the different types these came out in many colors both clear and solid. I believe they were styled after Shonen Cyborg. There are many other toys that are similar here are a few others: Mini Cyborider bike: My personal favorite Henshin Cyborg Jaguar x Stegasaurus: Back to Dokuroman: Some more pics of the original: Full Sheet... then empty (not sure where these pics came from, not mine): Gargamel's Glow Pink, and the 3 S7 versions (only silver metallic missing from pics now): Gargamel's Dokuroman head bracelet: In the package: Spread out: Close up of it worn: -Enjoy!
Damn i want one of those bracelets! Didnt gargamel make other jewelry as well? And if so does anyone know where to pick some up?
Yes they made a bunch of jewelry before. Including a Robotman (Microman) ring, Gigan ring, Mecha Acroyear (Microman) ring, and I could be mistaken, but I think there was also a Jet Jaguar. They also did a special Robotman ring for the now sadly extinct Base 2x0 (Xero Xero). You can see that ring here in all of it's vintage style boxed goodness: http://www.innerspaceonline.com/robotmanring.htm
Hey Flatline, These are next to impossible to get now. I did some digging and came up with these images: Robotman: Mecha Acroyear: Gaigan: I'm pretty sure there was another one or two, but I wasn't able to find them anymore. Oh there is Clingle too:
I'd like to see more detailed colorways. I've had my eye on the pink GID, but $40 seems a bit much... That jewelry is awesome!
Hey jebcrow, I'm pretty sure these were released in 2002 or at least that is when I first saw them on their site (or saw their site at all), it's possible there were some available earlier via the toy shows or something but I'm not sure beyond that.
That piece is nice. It's a cast of the chestplate Dave Waugh designed for the Palisades Micronauts reissues a few years ago. Did Gargamel make that? I didn't think so, but I have no idea actually. I believe they were selling it through S7 as well with a print, but again not sure. Another JP company or independent maker also produced several different rings based on the original Microman Barefoot/M101 chest plates. I'll have to see if I can dig up any pics of those.
This was on Bwana's old catalog from 2005. Would love to score one! This here be a sexy bit of jewelry made for me by accorn studios. The steven ring is sterling silver, and little jewels in his eyes and crossbones, and is a signed and numbered edition of 10. There are just a few left of the A run. There will be a B run and that's it. This ring also comes with a mini archieval quality Black metal print. I had pendants done to, but sorry no pic yet.
I received a nice package today from Japan and I'm now up to date on all of the Gargamel Dokuroman figures. Here they are all together: I also got the other Gargamel Microman toys I needed: I guess now I'm going to work on Smoking Corps and Thrashman. Will it never end? hahaha
Nice! All I'm missing is the yellow Microman Jack and the clear Dokuroman w/ pink. I found a Dokuroman at Mandarake last week that was clear yellow w/ no chest paint. Proto or custom, I wonder...
