my little wizard Hal made me a page for my art not too long ago and im just wondering if if anybody around is still using it, if so add me up on there my little goblins!---->http://myspace.com/artofskinner
I get a zillion annoying emails a day from people friending/messaging me on there... but I never check my stuff. Probably been all hijacked by now.
I'm fairly sure the weird guy on my block that always offers me Werther's Originals uses it. He's a rascal.
i signed into myspace for the first time in a couple years not too long ago, and the layout of everything was so chaotic that i left and never came back...
Same goes, I had like 6 million spammer messages and everything was mapped out much differently. I'll stick to Facebook if anything.
I deleted my page years ago, and I refuse to use Facebook or Twitter.. Fuck social networking bullshit. Go out and meet people, bunch of closet agoraphobics, and Twitter, I have no clue why people give a shit what other people are saying, and its usually some non relevant pseudo-famous/washed up, I made a sex tape dumbass whose post's people are reading.. I use up enough of my time on here..
opinions like this are annoying. i don't promote the "social network" thing. of course, get out and meet people. but i'm not going to bitchslap everyone who doesn't do things the way i do things, and expect everyone to follow my format and pov.... with that said: i don't use facebook to meet people. i have family and friends all over the globe. most convenient way to keep in touch with them.
Facebook is much more useful. It’s the main way I can keep up with events that previously required me going to dozens of sites and noting when things happen. Now, I just “like” a place, if they have an event there are the details all in one nice place. And MySpace is useless. I deleted my account in 1997 when I constantly was getting “friend” requests from spambots. Say what you will about Facebook, but it’s a much better balance of what MySpace attempted to do. But I do miss MySpace Tom. How many years did he use that picture in front of a whiteboard? Does he still send out notices to people like he’s just a normal dude chilling out? Hilarious!
I wasn't trying to say that everyone that uses FB is a shut in or something, it was really pointed at the people who do nothing but sit on that shit all day long. I understand people have large families/friend groups and its just an easy way to stay in touch with them. I'm pretty much on my own, parents both gone no real siblings so to speak, and really only hang with the people I grew up with all my life so I really don't have a need for that shit.
I like turning off my computer and getting out into the real world, but I think folks need to adjust their attitude towards social networking. Between laptops, smart phones and tons of free WiFi options, folks can be at a cafe and surf Facebook while waiting for a friend to show up. Heck, I worked at a fairly popular website during the Web 1.0 boom and 90% of our audience came from bored office workers. So I wouldn't be too harsh. It's also still winter and like 15 degrees Fahrenheit in some places. Nt the time of year to harsh on anyone who wants to be indoors.
Myspace did a redesign again a few months ago and its practically useless. Things take forever to load, don't load properly, photos can't be viewed as albums. But I'm with you, I see no need to be on the book face or the twatter.
