Very happy to share the two new releases for this line, and halfway through the series, I hope an independent thread is welcomed These are licensed from the original Diener Space Creatures mini figures/erasers from the late 70's, which are mostly references (ripoffs?) to film monsters from the 50's and 60's. These are four times the size, all between 8-9 inches! So far we've got Winged Amphibian Creature, Veined Cranium Creature, Horned Cyclops, and Tree Trunk Monster. Horned Cyclops was Kickstarted earlier this year and Tree Trunk Monster is a surprise drop! Every new release introduces a new colorway in which the previous toys are also produced in limited runs. Glow in the dark and brown are the newest colorways! All the figures are traditionally sculpted and made in rotocast vinyl matching the original keshi colors. Thanks! They've been really fun to sculpt--figuring out how to interpret some of the weird and sloppy details from the originals and making them better, but without losing the original character. So Diener was absorbed by another company some time ago--it still does pencils and erasers--seems like mostly for universities and corporations. Licensing was pretty straight forward and they thought it was a cool idea!
If anyone has a Green Winged Amphibian for sale, please let me know. Also, avoid Amok Toys like the plague. They waited two weeks to tell me that an item wasn't in stock after my purchase. I made the mistake of not reading their awful Yelp reviews first.
