I was thinking the same thing, but then I thought if it still had the black scarf, that would work like a charm.
rotofugi will get some but will only when "in house." the Evil should ship in March. i would check grumbletoy.com and kaiju-taro.com in the following days just to make sure they don't pop up. super7store.com on pre-orders couldn't hurt as well.
green/orange are the colors I dislike the most on toys(and in general)...but I wouldnt change a thing on this evil and like(maybe love soon) it the way it is....well done Mori !!
of course there are other color combos that would have worked better visually but then iy would have lacked the true to life aesthetic. i think it's one of the nicest rxh releases in a while.
I agree totally. Though it's "busy" I don't think too much so for what it is. If it weren't a Kabuki reference than yeah, it would be. But since it's obvious what Mori's trying to convey, to me, it works perfectly. An unpainted would be cool too.
same here but I really like the masking and the colors on this one...!!! noticed it sold out super quick at lulubell...
it was up for at least an hour anyway. i don't think that's super quick. super quick is an entire sale ending in less than 45 seconds, which used to happen a while back with some s7 releases.
very true, but it took less than a day and that's pretty quick considering the way people have been spending their money lately... however... I do remember RxH items disappearing lightning fast whenever they dropped on S7... no time to think, just add.. pay.. and pray...!!!
This evil looks like it takes some time to paint. For you customizers out there, would the kabuki evil take longer to paint or the light blue fade clear evil? Because if the kabuki takes longer I'd love to see the blue evil and head made too if time required used to be the reason for its halt in production
kabuki...i think, would take longer. but i'm sure they have a mask for...umm...the mask so it really won't take much longer. without the mask, the kabuki would take longer.
May be sooner then you think. Well MH is next in line. Chaos could be tough and well, big gots no head. Next evil Kabuki will be green.
I'd definitely be in for a Mutant Head. I love the concept, and the vinyl color mashups- Evil, not so much.
except for the shorts & cuffs (which make him look a bit like a bizarro batman-joker mashup), I love this. My favorite pieces from Mori are generally ones that incorporate some references to traditional Japanese art (i.e. honeborg's Noh face). I might have to pick up the Head as well depending on how it turns out...my complaint with a lot of Head colorschemes is that his unique facial expression tends to get lost on dark vinyl or overshadowed by the crest. I like the spray around the mouth on the Kamen Head for this reason. yesterday I picked up the Mazinger Bigaro, which is really awesome. The colors are darker than I normally like, but the glitter grey vinyl under the black & metallic blue gives it sort of a cosmic effect. I'm ending up with quite a few Bigaros. The sculpt is not at all my favorite, but they look great lined up (almost like a bunch of zombies), and he really displays colors well because of the broad, flat front.
Does anyone know if the colors chosen on the Evil have any connection to Kabuki tradition? Yeah, I'll do some independent research later, just asking if anyone knew off the top of their heads. I only bring it up because it seems there are some complaints on the color choices, but after looking at Sgt. Kabukiman wearing the orange robe I wondered if there was more to the color choice than just some random fancy of Mori's.
