Anyone here going along? Damn good selection of bands, and wristbands are only $20! Plus Sunday is free with an RSVP! White Lies, Monotonix, Tokyo Police Club, Amusement Parks on Fire, Seawolf!

you can usually judge these events by who sponsors them. the bigger the corporate sponsor the more i don't give a good goddamn. ;)

Well, the venues are great and I like a lot of the bands, so I guess thats teh main factors I judge it on. Like Torche for instance doing some Scion sponsored events - dont care about Scion, but dont want to miss Torche because of that. Now if it were sponsored by Glenn Beck than I probably wouldnt be going along.....

I'm messin' with ya Carl. These days bands need sponsors.Price of gas, limited venues and a lack of honest promoters... bands aren't left with much of a choice. The good ol' days of bands jumping in the van and doing it for themselves, by themselves are all but gone. Boo-hoo :(

By the way - this fest was totally undersubscribed and awesomely relaxed and fun as a result! Highlights were White Lies (who I got to see twice), Besnard Lakes (a revelation). Harry's Gym and Amusement Parks on Fire. Lowlights were the Klaxons - gave 'em a second chance - and they were as sucky as 3 years ago - absolute bollox live - and we are NOT talking the DOG's BOLLOX either!

Met up with some cool folks, got a free tee from Dickies/Dethkills crew and ate some good food truck stuff - like the appallingly named (but tasty) Gastrobus.

Got to see maybe 10 of the 40 or so bands on offer in relaxed circumstances over three days for $20! Can't be beat. Even the parking was easy and free. Culture Collide ruled!
