Whats coming up in Chicago? Here are a couple things I heard of: DvA Gallery - Netherland Shows 1/19/08 Rotofugi - Gabe Lanza 2/1/08 Hows Wizard World?
I haven't been to Wizard World for a couple years...there is usually some pretty cool comic-related stuff. Not too many toys though. G-Fest is a good time though. I missed the last one but will be there this year.
Is the Chicago section strictly for vinyl related events, or can any social gathering be included, like gigs?
WW get's more and more and more sad. I went in 05 and it was ok, skipped it in 06 for SDCC since I had the cash, and went back last year and it was horrible. 1 Kaiju booth that was cool, but a waste. It gets smaller every year. Less booths too.
Feel free to post up whatever shows you're diggin' at the moment...oftentimes I miss a cool band because I hear about it too late.
Oh, cool, OK, well, if anyone is around on May 30th there is a show at the Brauerhouse in Hillside: should be a good laugh, come and say hello, it'd be sweet to meet some fellow SBers
Just to let you know that Graverobber have been added to the bill for this Friday at Brauerhouse. If anyone has chance to make it out, that would be great!
Anyone going to the At The Gates / Municipal Waste / Darkest Hour show (Monday July 14th at House of Blues)?
At the Gates would be an awesome show! I've been talking with some friends about making the trek north to Chicago soon---Spoon, Dinosaur Jr., and Spiritualized at the Pitchfork fest on Sunday...might be kind of interesting... I read something about a flatstock show at this event as well---does anyone know anything else about it? Haven't finalized plans yet, but it was looking like a go just a couple of days ago...
Yeah, the Pitchfork music fest usually has a arts/crafts fair connected to it, including flatstock (my friend came home with a bunch of silk-screen prints last year). Let me ask my hippie artsy friends if they have any additional details, as they normally sell stuff at the arts and crafts show.
