Who is planning on watching Chappie?? I'm so stoked for this!! I really liked District 9 and Elysium.
One of my buddies is worried about those individuals being in it, like they will "Ruin" the flick. I have no idea who they are and am completely unfamiliar with South African hip hop.
I am actually expecting it to be awful, maybe I will be pleasantly surprised because I am going to see it regardless.
Yeah I was thinking about Short Circuit as well. This looks like it could be a bit darker and more serious.
I read a bunch of hilarious articles about how that ninja guy was hated by most of the other people in the movie. Even had to rewrite and remove some of his biggest scenes because other actors refused to deal with him at all anymore. Funny stuff.
http://www.citypress.co.za/entertainmen ... pure-evil/ You can google it and find lots of different articles and sources. Some of his "antics" seem pretty harmless but a few of them are just odd.
Wow... if those reports are true, it sounds like 'Ninja' is one egomaniacal prick and Die Antwoord's acting career just got killed as quickly as it started with their (at least his) on-set antics... Makes me glad I never bought any of their albums or paid to see them in concert. Here's an interesting post from DA's Facebook from last year if you can suffer through it (the grammar & spelling is atrocious): Fast forward to today: that friendship appears to have run its course All that aside, still looking forward to this flick. District 9 is one of my favorite films and Elysium grew on me more after watching it again.. Did anybody happen to catch the Die Antwoord spoof on Kroll Show this week? Pretty funny stuff (I'd post a Youtube clip but the audio is shit). Didn't even recognize Kristen Schaal as Yolandi.
They are a pair those two. That's a lot of the appeal and they make catchy songs. If this movie is half as entertaining as district 9 then lm sure I'll get my money's worth.
No clue what might or might not have transpired on set and I'm only mildly excited at best for the movie, but this cracks me up very much:
unfortunately, Idiocracy is turning out to be more documentary than comedy & incoherent rambling will displace formal communication structure in the not too distant future.
I'm sure there will always be an academic segment of the populous that will hold on to the old ways or at least proper discourse techniques. Ninja obviously writes like the burnt out user that he is. I will add that some SB people speak just like that on IG and here sometimes. No everyone is lucky enough to have a burgeois education like us :tophatandmonocleemoji: It's just a matter of considering in which circles we associate, since the world is big enough to have decent discourse and whatever-ninja-writes is called. I do enjoy the troves of shitty writing SB has exposed me to (there's some good stuff too). It pushes me to try and not sound as dumb or silly. I'm looking at you GSC.
Listening to Ninja speak makes reading what he writes a breeze. I do like Die Antwoord's music, though.
That video would make for a lethal drinking game. Take a shot every time he says 'like' and you'll be, like, stumbling for the, like, offy after 3 minutes from lack of booze left in the, like, house.
I've only seen District 9 but I was expecting this It doesn't look like Chappie will be dark like this Tetra Vaal footage.
^^ Guess I'll have to watch it in bites of 3 1/2 minutes over several weeks then, because I don't think I could take a Die Antwoord clip that goes on for 90...
I had never heard of Die Antwoord until someone here mentioned it in regards to Chappie... I just checked out a couple videos... I'm all for varying music, but this? I feel bad for the generation this music belongs to.
