Only problem with the subforums is you can't tell if there's a new message in the MAIN forum. If there's a new post in a subforum it'll make the main forum turn orange even if there isn't a new post in the main forum.
I agree....we are trying to figure out a work around but we may just have to live with it that way. Guess who can't spell?
Is there a way to make it so if I click to mark all the thread as read, the threads in the sub-forums are also marked?
See the "Mark forums read" in the middle of the page....it will mark all three forums (Gargamel, RxH, Secret Base) read.
RedYOda has a good point. I keep on going back to topics that are highlighted in red only to find that it was the sub-forum that had a new post.
i always assume any lag is due to my shitty comp, it's good to see it's not just me for a change. it seems to have unlagged a bit now. that's good, it was super annoying earlier today...
I might be wrong, but it seems that it takes a lot more clicks to move around the forum, mark things read, etc. And those extra clicks are going to add up over time. Seems less efficient than it used to be.
with krotch rot and the new vintage henshin robot subs it does take a few more clicks to clean up actually...
But it would if these were added to the old format too. In the old format it'd take two clicks to "clean up" - this only takes one click if you're not interested in reading those forums!
But what if you are interested? Extra clicks, or not? I am not very good at math. Not a big deal, but the new arrangement seems "awkward."
Hmmm... Maybe it's just a perception thing on my end. "Seems" like it takes more clicks, more scrolling around, etc. What did you hope to accomplish by the changes?
the problem is.. if there's a person like me who likes to browse through everything just in case something of interest pops up then he or she has to go through each thread to clean things up therefore making the process a bit slower since these new subs have been added...
It was alot easier before to see new posts. If I was on the main page before I could see if there is a new post just by looking at the name of the last poster in each individual section. Now it does take more clicks by having to go in and look at the sub menus.
See how the Secret Base Forum looks different than the RxH and Gargamel forums.....that is how you tell if there are new post in a sub-forum without clicking.
Glenn, yeah I see how I can observe new posting by seeing the red outline on the folders. I just liked the old way. I'm an old geeza who dislikes change.
