like..please provide me a list of either : RFSO Official Guidelines or a list of 'RFSO approved' members so the next time someone asks me to like take some sort of action as regards what I should or should not either POST or EDIT in these forums I dont either step into a pile of shit or create one. I recieved a request to remove a picture and then I get shit for it, when all I was doing was like..well nothing wrong. Like, no way to win. I mean wtf. If I agree to a members request...I get shit If i where to have refused that persons request...I maybe would get more shit...and if it turns out that person is some sort of 'royalty' I could get even more shit. Can u understand my aggravation in this matter? ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS SHOW A PICTURE OF A COOL TOY I GOT. and now..it is weird. Locked threads? wtf. someone tell me what the fuck is going on.
you have been bad. report for punishment. the rules will not be explained until after you have broken them (and sometimes not even then).
This was far from your fault so i wouldn't get too excited. The thread got locked because it just wasn't going anywhere good. Without your picture, it was functionally worthless and was just gonna end up a shouting match. I think that what you did was pretty respectful and RFSO, even if the person who requested it realizes it was a silly ask to begin with.
Yep, it was my bad. I was a bit out of line when I asked you to do me that favor, but I didn't realize that asking someone to remove a picture until the next day would be such a big deal. I'm sorry for disrupting the thread.
If I'm wrong about this go to the end of this post and tell me to do what I'm telling you to do! I missed the post yesterday so I'm just guessing what went on. Frank posted a pic and Ghostbuster was planning on bidding on the auction and told Frank to pretend that nobody else here spends way too much time searching YJA and take it down. There are hundreds of registered members on this site, tons on KR and I'd guess a substantial number that lurk. Not to mention the other collectors that just buy and don't deal with internet stuff like we do. So, it's safe to say that at least one other person has seen the auction and is planning a bid. So, it someone asks someone else to remove a link or a pic to an auction there is only one proper RFSO response to said request...FUCK OFF!!! And if I'm wrong in my assumptions please go back to the beginning of this response and follow the instructions!
It's not a big deal or out of line but I think it did the opposite of what you hoped it would do. It was just kinda stupid.
he didn't post a link to the auction. he posted a picture of the toy GB was hoping to win at auction.
if it was predictable that pic is taken from an running auction its basically the same as a direct link - no? just sayin.
Frank, welcome to the anonymous age of the internet. No matter what you do on this board, some one is gonna complain and moan about something, even if it doesn't even logically pertain to them anyways.
What bothers you guys about a link to an auction? (not being a smart ass, just curious because it doesn't bother me)
it was a pictures of Franks sunguts shelf. There is a reason you are having a hard time understanding what happened. Can you guess what it is?
creevox, the part you have wrong is that I didn't TELL anyone to do anything. I ASKED Frank to do me a favor. He could have declined, and I would have said, "OK. Fair enough." Frank obliged, but edited his post to say something like "Picture censored by RFSO request. DON'T BID UP HIS AUCTION! omg wtf lol" I PM'd Frank again, thanked him, and inquired about the edit, which I felt would lead to unnecessary drama. I then posted my first reply in the thread to explain. Shortly thereafter, Frank edited his post a second time. I should have gone back to delete my post, but I didn't (big mistake).
Pictures of toys that I don't have offend me also. TAKE DOWN THE WHOLE "SHOW YOUR COLLECTION" SECTION!!!
the complaints on that thread had nothing to do with you frank. had to do with the person requesting a picture be taken down.
ANYWAY, this situation involves two people...Frank and me. Other people (who aren't mods or admins) need to learn to mind their own business. Seriously. Why is this thread still open?
We should really just scrap this whole website since there are probably many pictures on here of toys that will show up in auctions, it's really going to foil my plans.
You do realize that this is a messageboard, right? If you post something on here, it is no longer betwen two people, dontcha think?
there's been a couple of times where it's been an auction i'm bidding on... and i get worried that someone might suddenly want it too i'm also a cheap sonofabitch i don't mind someone wanting to bid on what i'm bidding on... but i'd like them to be one that had been actively looking for it too.
