aww crap. mexican referee, marco rodriguez, a.k.a. dracula, is officiating the game. hopefully he doesn't mess this up. i'm not a fan of his.
after Brazil's pyrrhic victory against Colombia, there was no way they had the strength to fight Germany. They were slaughtered at home, pretty humiliating.
Today won the best football, soccer is not just dribbling and tricks with the ball as clown, is also physical strength, speed, discipline and hard work. All that was now Germany, so it is a worthy winner.
Roger I think you have it the other way around. Brazil was ' physical strength, speed, discipline and hard work' and Germany who has been 'dribbling and tricks with the ball as clown'. Germans have definitely brought the good football to the pitch. I'm glad that Germany is a finalist, but no one expected this!
I meant the style of play, Brazil has always been characterized by the Jogo Bonito, touch and dribbling (cien bicicletas en el área). It's a style that I personally do not like, I prefer like the European style (England, Germany, Holland) with more strength and speed more physical. When I was saying clowning, I meant Neymar. Today Brazil looks strong and fast for his lack of technique, today did not play anything, just ran. Kaká is the only player from Brazil that I like his play and is not the typical Brazilian football player.
The class of 2014 Brazilian players let their fans down. Heavily. They are all multi-millionaires many times over. Just a disgrace to professional footballers for not even bothering to show up and fight with dignity. They totally deserved the thrashing having scrapped through all the matches leading up to the Germany showdown. And I am saying this having been a Brazil fan all my life.
Yes, I know you meant this. But what I meant is that if Brazil lacked something this time, was their jogo Bonito. It has been so since Felipao took over. I think you're probably in the minority, Roger, I think most people (myself included) appreciate technical and spectacular playmaking. That which makes Brazil, Brazil. We didn't see a glimpse of that this WC. Rergarding Germany, they've left the muscle on the side, but kept the team spirit and the winner's drive. This team has now included the need of having the ball and knowing what to do with it to the repertoire. Hats off to the Germans.
^^I'm totally with Joe. Just as well Neymar didn't play. He wouldn't have made much difference. Losing with a "complete" team would have been worse. But that was a horrendous foul on Neymar and an even more horrendous refereeing- Brazil vs Columbia
Yes, that was definitely lacking some excitement. Typically if it goes to extra time and penalty kicks one would be excited for the result - this one, not so much. Anyhow, very much looking forward to the final. Die Mannschaft got revenge over Brazil for the 2002 final, and now I am excited to see retribution for the '86 loss to Maradona and cohorts. It's time to add another star to the jersey.
They actually got their pay back quite fast the very next WC. Italy 90 saw Germany crown against Arg. This time around will be the tie breaker.
